Very Substantial Unit - Stun Gun's Sound alone is a Deterrent
This appears to be a very well made heavy duty unit. The unit has a nice "heft" to it. The crackling of the stun gun is very loud and is by itself quite a deterrent. I wouldn't want to go near anyone holding one of these. I am vey impressed with this flash light-stun gun combo unit. The flashlight works just fine. You simply CANNOT tell it is a stun gun. There is a small slide switch at the butt end of the flashlight that switches it from flashlight to stun gun mode. The flashlight button is the larger button and the stun gun activation button is smaller and is on the opposite side from the flashlight button. When in stun gun mode, the flashlight will not work. That is one quick indicater of the mode (Unless your battery is dead - then neither flashlight nor stun gun will work). Just be sure to test the flashlight so you know the battery has juice. If you are in a situation where you may need the stun gun, switch it to that mode and press the flashlight button. If you know the batteries are good and the light doesn't light, the unit is in stun gun mode. Of course activating the stun gun is the most reliable way to tell, but then that would give away the fact that it is a stun gun.

wrong info but great flashlight!
I chose 4 stars because the pictures are right but the info is wrong...its actually a Pitbull brand stun gun with 160 lumen led and 11 million volts. The stun gun is a really good flashlight, a little lighter than expected....only 3 little cons: the holster feels a little cheap(I dont use it any way), the lens came a little scratched(but I dont really mind), and the cords kinda short....other than those little "problems" its a great buy! (Haven't got to use the stun gun but it sounds vicious!)

Bad on off switch.
My husband wanted one because he saw my son's. Both of them lost the button that turns it off & on.My husband's came off within the first week. It now sets in a drawer. I tried to contact about it but never heard back. It was for his 7 2nd birthday. Worked for a couple days.

Nervous about how this would work in a practical self defense situation
I received this in the mail only days after my online order. The product seems solid, light is bright, holster is fine. the only issue I'm having is the practical application when using this unit. I bought this for my fiance who walks home from the train station, sometimes very, very late at night. I would think that the design would allow for you to use the flashlight and then immediately use the stun feature if necessary. Well, this isn't the case. You must first switch the unit to stun by toggling a small switch on the base of the unit. Now who would have time for that if you being attacked? Doesn't make sense to me. I suggested to my sweet sweet Mikhaila that while walking home with the flashlight on she needs to be aware of her surroundings at all times. If she feels the least bit threatened she should immediately switch the unit into stun mode. Unfortunately the light will turn off but she will be prepared in the event she needs to crack that 1.21 gigawatts. I may toy with unit at somepoint and see if i can bypass that switch.

Great for the price
Sounds really loud and intimidating, flashlight is plenty bright outdoor or inside, defensive strobe is not highly effective. Had my brother shock me on the arm and it hurt pretty good, Im sure it could take someone down if it was held to the neck or below the ribs.

not impressed
When i first got this I didn't try it out on myself but I did turn on the stun part and the sound was really scary. I was using this as a real flash light every night on my job. Within a week the wrist strap broke, then after about a month the end was getting loose. The end was loose to begin with, but I thought since it came that way and the instructions said not to open it that it was supposed to be that way. Well there is some stupid tape around the end cap and now the screws have worked their way almost completely out. Also I was in a stair well one night and the flashlight was getting low so I tried out the stun, just to see if it would work while on a low battery, it does not work if the battery is low. Oh I almost forgot, in the second week of using this light nightly the switch fell out twice. I put it back in but the third time it fell out I didn't know it had fallen out and now its lost. So I won't be buying another one of these. It made me feel safe to have it but it just didn't hold put under use.
