Works exactly as described. Can be a bit heavy but otherwise it is a premium built product. If you have too much coffee in your basket and they're near the rim of it, coffee can get stuck to the sides of the distributor. A little annoying but easily remedied by brushing the grounds back into the basket or by "flattening" the coffee grounds in the basket first prior to distributing.

The box it came in was mislabeled as being the correct size, and contained a 53.5 mm distributor rather than the 58.5 that I had ordered. I requested the replacement but my order is back ordered (but apparently I can buy a new 58.5mm distributor and get it next day? Normcore please fix or clarify what the delays are this looks sketchy. My only option is to cancel my zero dollar order for my replacement via Amazon… Edit: got my proper order to come through, just had a bunch of delays and it seemed like it took some complaining to get it processed. Actual product is great :)

I use this everyday. It evens out my espresso to the point that I don’t really need the tamper. I still tamp just in case, but I couldn’t imagine making espresso without it. I do put down a paper towel to catch stray ground beans.

If you like distribution tools, then this one represents a great value. Nicely made. Easy to adjust, great weight. Fun to use. Along with their spring tamper, these Normcore products represent great value in an ocean of overpriced barista tools.

Works great, still going string after a few months, sturdy, nice design, just a hair too small for my particular portafilter (ordered a bottomless from shades of coffee) so that’s the only reason I’d potentially give a 4 out of 5 stars. And by a hair, I mean a hair. I only notice a bit of grounds on the sides of the basket after distributing but I wouldn’t say it’s a huge issue when brewing, just not the cleanest when paired with the mesh screen and doesn’t effect the brewing.

The Normcore distribution tool feels well made and has a nice, premium weight in the hand. I like the adjustable depth design, and it is easy to get a level, consistent distribution across the puck. My main issue is the 58.5 mm diameter. Instead of moving all of the grounds evenly across the basket, it tends to leave a ring of coffee stuck along the sides. I often have to tap, brush, or manually redistribute those grounds before tamping, which defeats the purpose of using a distribution tool for a quicker and cleaner workflow. It may work better with some baskets than others, but in my setup the fit is just a little too close to the basket wall. The tool levels the center well, but it does not cleanly incorporate the coffee around the edges. Overall, it is a nicely built product with a good concept, but the grounds left on the side make it less effective and less convenient than I expected.

I owned others less expensive, but this one is by far the best of them. Solid and sturdy, you can avoid even to tamper the coffee for its weight. I would stop looking for other distributors, this one does not need to be cleaned after using it - it does not retain any coffee after using it like some of the others that have a little step in the steel.

Das Produkt an sich ist okay. Mehr aber eben auch nicht. Die Verarbeitung scheint in Ordnung zu sein, für 50€ wiederum finde ich den Artikel absolut überteuert. Zudem braucht man diese Art des Verteilwerkzeugs absolut nicht. Ein WDT-Tool (ein Korken und ein paar feine Nadeln tun es auch) reicht völlig, um das Kaffeemehl für das Tampen vorzubereiten. Die zusätzliche Glättung der Oberfläche hat nach meiner Erfahrung keinen zusätzlichen Vorteil. Im Gegenzeil: der Prozess verlängert sich und man hat unnötig Geld ausgegeben.

I haven't tried too many coffee distributors but I can't imagine you can top this one. It feels solid and fits my 58mm portafilter perfectly, nice and snug. What I liked about it the most is the ability to adjust the height of leveler. You unscrew the top, adjust the bottom, and re-screw the top to lock it into place. I had to make that adjustment when I first got the item and now again after chancing portafilter.
