IT WORKS GREAT -EXCEPT-
I installed this on the flat end of a 5g tub I bought from Bi-Mart. Filled the tub and noted it did NOT leak. There is a gasket that comes with the gates for the surface that mounts it to the tub. However; when I began to draw the honey out into bottles I found out IT WORKS GREAT as long as I tighten the nut on the hinge side after each use. Otherwise it needs a leak safety tray (like a cookie sheet). Which is a good ides anyway. There is a round gasket mounted in the lid.I think putting a washer on the head side of the hinge bolt will help keep the bolt from unscrewing the slight amount it does with each rotation of the valve cover. But since my tub is full of honey, I'll wait to do this another time. This gate probably should NOT be used on a curved surface (like a bucket).

The Honey is Flowing!
Created my own Honey extraction system. These gates made it easy to transfer the honey from buckets to jars with no problem. Easy to install and get affordable.

Loosens up as you use it (i.e. leaks)
The nut on the back of the screw on the left hand side of this honey-gate probably needs to be a locking nut (or something) as it loosens up each time you open the honey gate. In order to mitigate this issue, we kept a screwdriver handy while we were filling honey jars. Every 2-3 jars, we had to tighten that screw back up so that when we closed the honey gate, the seal was in place. As it loosens up, the seal no longer works and honey will leak out if you don't keep that screw tightened up. It's not the end of the world. Using the screwdriver every couple of jars worked. But certainly would be nice for it to just work properly without having to fix it every couple of uses.

Exactly what you get in stores, but less expensive and comes to your door.

Both broke during first use
I was so excited for these to help dispense honey and tahini. I installed them in a bucket and both latches cracked with first use. I have an existing honey gate for over a year with no issues so I know how to use them. These just are poor quality. Unfortunately, I cannot return them since it's now outside the return window.
