The shift knob is made of the cheapest plastic imaginable, no threaded insert, undersized, many sharp edges to cut your hand. Typical made in GYNA garbage. Do not buy.

Contrary to other reviews, I didn't find it insultingly bad, nor exceptionally good, but this gear shift knob did the job for me. A previous reviewer noted that thread pitch wasn't correct resulting in crossthreading. My experience was that there was a little rubber from the knob molding process left in the threads that made it tricky to get started. But once started, threads were clean and matched to my shifter shaft. This is subjective, but I found this shifter knob to have a nice firm feel. It is shaped similarly to the OE shift knob, but I is shaped slightly better ergonomically (for my hand anyway, and my wife likes it too). My only real complaint is that, despite being sold as a direct replacement for my vehicle, the gate pattern indicated on this knob is incorrect for my car. It won't pose a problem for me, so I'm gonna call it an anti-theft device: any car thief will be endlessly searching for gears that don't exist. For the price (cheap), this represents a fair value.

If you're looking for the worst possible shift knob for your manual transmission Mercedes 190E, this is the one you want. Once it's screwed on the shifter (cross threaded, because the thread pitch is different from the shifter thread) it feels like a shifting a raw hot dog as the cheap flexible plastic bends and twists. The only reason I'm not returning it is because this is such an epically bad product that the story is worth more I paid for the shift knob. It is now garage art...
