Easy to use figertip pulse oximeter.
Firstly, I am not a medical person so I can't vouch for the devices accuracy but I do have a technical background - and it looks as though it's pretty good. My son, who is a medical person, advised that in the current situation (Covid-19 pandemic) , we should add one of these devices to our medicine cabinet. This device comes in a plastic shell which fits snugly in a small cardboard box. It is supplied with a lanyard and a user manual. I can't see me using the lanyard but it's a nice addition for those who would want one.The user manual seems to have been written by two different people and the ChinEnglish varies from good to not so. Unfortunately it's the operating instructions that are the not so good. However you shouldn't have too much trouble following them as the device is simple enough to use.My unit came with the batteries installed and it's very simple to use - just put your finger all the way into it and press the power button. The display shows Oximeter for a second or so then changes to display the SPO and Pulse rate. There are six display modes and these are changed by a short press on the power button. The unit remembers this display mode for the next time it will be used.If you want to turn the Alarm function on or off then once the unit is turned on you press the power button for 3 seconds. Once in Settings screen pressing the power button for 1 second scrolls through the options. Pressing the power button for 3 seconds allows you to change the selected option. You need to scroll down to select Exit and then press for 3 seconds to go back to the display screen. To set the alarm levels you need to select Alm Setup from the Settings screen and follow a similar procedure to make changes to the settings. Again scroll down to Exit to return.Very impressed with this little gadget.

Does what it says on the box.
I bought this on 22nd April 2020 & have been using it every day, as COVID-19 causes hypoxia which has no symptoms, until the disease is in the later stages by which time much damage to various organs has occurred. The battery indicator has only just started varying between 3 & 2 bars. Different fingers give slightly different readings & cold hands give low readings which is not a problem during the current heat-wave, unless this device is used immediately after holding an ice-cold drink! It has many functions & another reviewer has explained how to access the menus to select them. Excellent product!

Battery area badly desgned
I found this worked about 1 time in 4. Having an electronics background I decided to find out why. I checked the batteries (with a multimeter) - fine. But the problem turned out to be that the batteries could easily be knocked out of contact with their contacts. So to use it in practice one has to be prepared to remove the battery cover and tweak the batteries. So partly poor design, partly poor quality control.Having got it to work it seemed fine. Certainly the pulse readings were what I expected and I checked a couple. The O2 readings were also within the >98% range I expected. But those not inclined to tinker with electronic products (such as the person I bought it for - who gave it back and I now have to buy a different model from someone else), they are likely to find it frustrating/unusable.

Accuracy???
I see that I'm being asked to rate this device for it's "accuracy". That's clearly completely impossible because I do not possess an entire laboratory of medical device testing equipment. As it happens, I have two of these which will give significantly different readings if used simultaneously on both hands. Pulse, saturation levels - everything. That's not to say it's ineffective, but you really need a specific reason for using it and have some form of medical knowledge to interpret the results safely. What I can say is that it's easy to use with a flexible data display. At the price I paid, it's also quite expensive.

Failed to work on second use
I bought two oximeters, one for myself and one for someone else. I read the instructions, used them as instructed, and each of them worked the first time I tried, and both failed to work (ie to switch on) on the second attempt. I checked that I hadn't mysteriously misaligned the batteries; I hadn't. Amazon emailed me a returns label and gave me a full refund.

Would recommend.
Everything seems to be in good working order. I purchased this pulse oximeter because I'm just getting over an asthma attack and lung infection which I didn't know I had I knew I was having some breathing problems but as a non smoker all of my life I just put it down to work and feeling tired and I thought I just needed a good sleep and I would be fine it turned out I wasn't fine I've been on antibiotics and 2 lots of steroids I'm slowly getting back to normal thank god . When I finally visited the doctor after my husband's persistents he told me that I wasn't very well and he signed me off work right away so I've purchased a few things to keep me right in future incase I get breathless again this will let me know what my oxygen levels are at. I would recommend. Very simple to use.

Essential bit of kit
I don’t understand this “sheerness” category! However, this does work but you need to hold very still and wait some time as it can sometimes be confusing on heart beats per minute. You need to make sure you fingers aren’t too cold or hot too because that causes problems.I’ve had two of these before and they all seem to do this a bit but they do work and I wouldn’t be without one now.I have COPD and a Heart problem so I need to keep check of my blood oxygen levels at all times. The only reason I bought another is because the battery compartment lid catch snapped off on the last one; it still works but, obviously I can’t carry it about nose!
