A good alternate Tigertron figure
A really good figure for a alternative take on a character from the beast wars Transformers cartoon. Like the tiger orange look from the snow tiger look. Nice voyager class figure in orange tiger look. A rally nice Christmas present

Two obscure characters
This pack consists of two extremely obscure characters from the Transformers franchise. It is heavily fan indulgent and, as such, highly unlikely to appeal to a wide audience. For those that know of either or both of these two characters this is possibly the only way to realistically obtain them.It is one of four exclusive releases that make up the ‘Golden Disc Collection’, a subline in ‘War for Cybertron’. It is the only one of the four that includes two full size figures. So, although the more expensive, it is probably the best value. Both figures, however, are relatively similar as they are both repaints, and in the case of one a slight retool, of ‘Kingdom’ Huffer.Road Ranger began life as part of the ‘Gobot’ toy line, at one time the lead competitor to Transformers. Like his more famous counterpart, Bugbite, he was one of the six characters that was carried over into the Transformers ‘universe’. In much the same way as Bugbite became a repaint of mini-Autobot Bumblebee, Road Ranger was re-imagined as a redeco of Huffer. Here things are much the same and the WFC Road Ranger is a direct repaint of ‘Kingdom’ Huffer. He, therefore, comes with the same accessories, the clawed shield and wonderfully designed blaster that can symmetrically split into two and be fixed to the vehicle mode as side panels for the truck bed.The repaint suits the model really well. The black colouring of the truck with its red windows works better with the grey/silver elements and, overall, he looks a lot less toy like than ‘Kingdom’ Huffer. However, this paint job does somehow give him a slightly sinister appearance more suited to being a Decepticon. With the other three figures that share this mode being Autobots, I can’t help wondering whether it might have been better for him to be portrayed as a Decepticon or as mercenary, as ‘Earthrise’ Bugbite was.Puffer is an even more obscure character than Road Ranger. He began life as a possible production error in some areas of the world where Pipes was released as merely a repaint of Huffer rather than possessing his own body/head sculpt (a similar thing seems to have happened over Brawn and Outback). A bit like Bumblejumper, the name Puffer was thus derived from Huffer and Pipes by fans. This is, therefore, Puffer’s first legitimate figure. He is much the same mould as ‘Kingdom’ Huffer apart from possessing a truck cab than can be swivelled 180 degrees to recreate the look of the original Pipes. He is most likely a direct repaint of the ‘Kingdom’ Pipes that for some reason is coming out after this set.Apart from the clever little adaption to the cab that can allow Puffer to resemble either the Huffer or Pipes configuration, the only major difference to Huffer and Road Ranger are the accessories. Puffer comes with two cannons that can be mounted on his arms in Seeker fashion and in several places in vehicle mode.Obviously with both Road Ranger and Puffer being the same mould as Huffer they do suffer from the same weaknesses that plagued him. The main flaw being that bend at the middle in vehicle mode that hugely restricts their ability to roll properly on four wheels. It’s a shame Hasbro couldn’t find a little alteration to amend this.

Might be better without the remoulded head?
According to Mr Ben Yee this "normal" tiger colours Tigatron is based on a prototype shown at Toy Fair 1996 and the mutant head is from box art. The pricing (more than swapping the dollar sign for GBP) makes it quite an expensive release in the UK, but if you like the deco then it's nice to have the opportunity to get what's quite a niche item.

Very cool figures
Love these figures. This 2 pack is a must have. For the price point they are a great addition to your WFC collection. The details and colors make them stand out on your shelf. I have not transformed them but they look fantastic in their robot form. They are very sturdy and the joints are tight.
