As you get older there are times when you need to have simple items in your house. These flat handled door handles are amazing. If someone has a handicap and needs to get into a room this is easily pushed down. These particular handles do not have locks as I was thinking of safety in mind to avoid anyone locking it by accident and not being able to get out. They are easy to install. The square base gives it an elegant look that matches the square electrical plugs in the room. It is a simple look yet very elegant. The value for the money is wonderful high above. The kwikset brand is a high quality product with functionality for both handicapped children and regular adults alike. These are used in a bedroom for both the closet and the main door. They match beautifully against a white or off white door. Kwikset is a very reputable brand and I highly recommend them if you are looking to update your door handles as well as giving yourself the upgrade as an elderly person that might not be able to turn a door handle as there are arthritis and their body changes.

I love these doorknobs! They’re not only beautiful to look at, but they just feel really good and solid in your hand when you open or close a door. They were also really fun to install once I figured it out. I had never changed a door knob before, and not gonna lie, I was pretty proud of myself because there were complications. Many complications. My house was built in the 70s, and the latches are what I believe they call “drive-in.” These knobs were not set up for that so I had to figure out what the difference was between what I have and how these were set up. I had to take the already attached strike plate off, and put the drive-in collar on. Then the real fun began, because removing the old latches was a huge pain. They were in there incredibly tightly; I finally just stuck a long screwdriver right into the middle of it and hammered the end of the screwdriver. On a few of my doors, they were so stubborn that it actually peeled off some of the wood, and on one door, it pulled the hinge nails out of the door, so I had to stop in the middle and fix that. 😂 And of course, the new latches were just as hard to get in. I finally had to hammer them the last 3/4 of an inch into the door. Impressively, it didn’t damage the latch in any way, but it did scuff up the paint around the latch. I included some pictures of one of my old drive-in latches before I removed it, so you can compare, because I didn’t see this style mentioned in any videos or reviews and it took me a while and several moments of panic to figure out what to do. There’s also a picture of the new latch with the drive-in collar. And I included a video in the hopes that this helps someone who has the same issue I did. (Please excuse my growing-out manicure! Also, it was pretty late by then, so hopefully my explanation makes sense!) So, even tho none of the above actually sounds fun, once I figured it out and got the hang of it, I had a blast putting these in all over my house and they look about a million times better than my old 70s knobs. I’m so glad I got these, and pretty pumped I got them all done on my own.

Didn't realize how much easier door handles are to open than doorknobs! Great switch in our entire house and we are quite happy with the quality and look of them. Highly recommend.
