I am relatively new to use of waterslide decals. Although I used them in the past, I wanted to be sure that my project turned out well as I was making some personalized gifts for Christmas. I read many reviews before making a purchase of waterslide paper and also read and watched a lot of videos on how to use them. By the time I was done I felt well-versed on the process, which was definitely not as simple as printing out an image, sealing it, cutting it out, soaking it in water and then sliding it onto an object. I followed all directions and was careful in every step including using the correct printer settings, allowing adequate drying time of ink, spraying with an acrylic sealer and allowing several hours for drying between each of the three rounds of spray, etc., etc. After all that, I was very disappointed with the outcome because this decal paper I purchased did not perform. The primary problem was that even after the allotted time (and more) for soaking in water, the decal would not easily slide off the paper nor would it easily adhere to the object, which in my case consisted of clear plastic drinking glasses. The edges of the decal lifted off, but the center section stayed stuck to the paper. As a result, in the attempt to slide off the decal, it became crinkled, warped, and ruined. In addition, in spite of three coats of acrylic spray sealer, the ink still ran when the decal was immersed in water. So, back to the drawing board and another 36 hours or so of time. I wasted a lot of printer ink (particularly since printed on HIGH quality setting), a lot of waterslide papers, and mostly a great deal of time. Sadly, I was unable to finish making all of the gifts to give everyone for Christmas. At this point, I don't know what I could have done differently other than find a more reliable waterslide decal product. With all that said, bottom line, I definitely DO NOT recommend this decal paper!

I really liked the durability of the decal layer of this waterslide paper. As you can imagine, once I printed out the design in the included picture, clearcoated it several times, and put it in water, it was difficult to slide off just due to parts of the cutout getting caught on other parts. When applying this decal I had to be very careful, using tweezers and qtips to adjust the image because the "stems" and small "flowers" would fold over or bend easily. The decal layer held up to all my adjustments/messing around with it, and I would definitely buy it again. The one thing I didn't like was that the package came bent, which creased all the sheets. I printed around it, but it could be protected better maybe.

This model kit, and others in the future, had vinyl stick-on decals which aren't near as nice as decals. I scanned the stick-ons and then printed them with my inkjet printer onto the white decal paper. After printing I sealed the decal with Krylon gloss acrylic. After giving it time to dry completely I applied them like any water slide decal with no problem. They came off the backing quickly and were easy to work with and the thickness was just right. I'll be doing more such projects for my model building hobby in the future.
