I've placed several decals rather easily as a beginner 40k warhammer hobbyist thanks to this stuff, on my Space Marines Blood Ravens scouts (using both the circular symbol and even adding a number on top of that by using these liquids on top of an already placed decal).

This stuff works well for transfers. Transfers can be a pain, sometimes painting on icons can be easier. This stuff does make applying transfer sheets better.
