The app is not the most elegant, but super functional, and the system for zeroing in on the correct IR codes for a brand and type is really elegant. It keeps asking you to confirm if the last code it sent worked or not and narrows down the options 20-questions style. The app even flips the display so you can point the dongle to the device being controlled from the USB-C connector on the bottom of the phone. If you travel lots and want to plug in your own device to hotel TVs, this works great. I haven't used yet to replace a lost remote, but from everything I can see it would work great for that also.
