When they say blackout shade, they mean it
Ive been looking for a good blackout window shade for the double window in our bedroom. The window is 70" wide on the outside of the window frame, and I got the 73" curtain. The curtain itself is more like 72" but the mounting hardware reaches 73" across. They included a clear plastic measuring tape, which I taped up to help with installation. It was possible to install with one person, but would have been a bit easier with two. The included drywall anchors are a bit flimsy and the first one bent, but luckily I had a spare. We have tried eclipse curtains, in the past but white ones still let in light. I installed this roller shade and wow, it works. I've included a picture with the lights off, and with daylight outside you can see just the tiniest bit of light on the side. At night, you can't see any light coming in at all. I imagine that mounting it backwards so it rolls under and fits even closer to the wall would eliminate even that sliver of light, but I like the look as it is.I will say that the chain does not necessarily move the shade super smoothly. But, the window shade seems sturdy enough, especially for the price. I'll update if anything changes but I am quite happy with this for now.

High quality
I bought these in black because I love a dark bedroom. Let me tell you..it's dark. I love it. The quality of these shades are superb and super easy to install..

Good, but bottom seam feels unfinished and lets light through the small "sew" holes
Photo of bottom of blind attached, there's a row of very small holes running along the bottom that they used to "sew" the bottom of it with a sort of fishing line thread. It lets light through the holes which draws attention to it, and also the top of the seam isn't "sealed", there's a little line of fabric that sticks up past the sewing holes. To me it makes the seam look unfinished, I was even wondering if I'd installed it backwards, but that's how it's supposed to be. Because of that I took off a star.It also took me about an hour to install, because the installation brackets aren't very versatile (at least for my window), the two drilled holes didn't line up to anything I could drill into, so I had to drill threw the sides of the brackets (there were holes in the sides of the brackets but the plastic sides covered them, so I had to drill threw the plastic. Not hard, as long as you have a drill and appropriate sized drill bit, but still a pain.I also had to use makeshift shims to add 1/4" (1/8" on each side) on each side of the brackets so the blinds would fit. (This would only be an issue if you couldn't drill into the window's wall; I couldn't, which is why I had to drill into the sides of the window frame.)They're good overall, and I'm sure I'll stop noticing the seam and the tiny holes letting in light after I get used to it. (The blinds in the photo are white FYI, they just look dark because the room is dark with the shades.)

Kind pricey but it works well!
This product works exactly as described, little tricky to install but it's well made and my cats haven't destroyed it yet so that is good.

Overall, a good blackout solution
The blackout fabric works well but I’m not fond of the plastic chain used to lower and raise the shade. It seems very flimsy and I’m not sure it will last very long. Also, if you install the shade to wind up towards the back as in the pictures, the ugly plastic fabric is showing. We wanted the prettier fabric to face towards the room so we installed it to wind in the opposite direction. Not a big deal and seems to work fine.
