UPDATE: The batteries or the charger were defective, and I had to return the entire weed eater. That meant I had to disassemble it, buy a box, and haul it to UPS. It would have been nice if Amazon would have just swapped out the batteries and charger. On the flip side, Amazon exchanged it and hopefully this one does the job.The tool has plenty of power and it's easy to manage. My 9-year-old grandson handles it perfectly well and so do I (I'm not much bigger than he is😁).The downside are the batteries. They only deliver power for about 30 minutes before having to fully recharge them. I would suggest purchasing two extra batteries. Overall, I am mostly satisfied and would purchase again.Happy whacking!

Fairly heavy, with its two batteries, this strimmer works well enough...until it's time to reload the cutting line. The instructions are vague to the point of uselessness. I found it necessary to disassemble the entire spool in an attempt to get the line to follow its appropriate internal path. Even then, my success rate has only been about 50%. The method for extending additional string as you work is absurd: "[h]it the trimmer head against the ground while you operate the machine." That, too, like reloading the line, only works about 50% of the time.

Has enough power to do the job without destroying things. Auto load and feed of line works great . MAY 2024 follow up, I have a Kobalt with the same twine wind up cap. I use a 2 1/4 inch deep cut hole saw to get a better grip , to assist winding operation. It fits the edges and with the teeth going the right direction , ( clockwise) . 2 5/16 in. might work better , but I don't have any. The cheapest version works .

I bought this product and it arrived with one battery that doesn't charge out of the two. Without 2 batteries, it won't work at all. Attempted to contact Greenworks with the number Amazon provided. They were closed on the weekends. Called Monday and the message stated that customer support closed early. Attempted using the Chat option for help. It states the model number STE304, doesn't exist, so I couldn't proceed. Called on Tuesday. I have been on hold for over an hour and still nothing. Will update.After about an hour and a half on hold (yes, the offer the option of leaving a call back number, which I didn't use as I had to work from home to access customer service when they were open. Also, they needed me to try out stuff with the batteries and give them serial numbers, etc.) The lady I spoke to spoke English and appeared to be US based. Eventually, after doing the "did you restart it" version of troubleshooting, it was indeed determined my battery didn't work and they offered to ship me a new one at no cost. I then had to dispose of my non-working battery in the proper manner, and our yearly toxic garbage pick up coincided with this, thankfully. It took time out of my work schedule to get this resolved, but the lady I spoke to was great and I did get my battery about a week or so later, which I did appreciate. Customer service needs better access esp since you have to have the physical batteries and charger to get this resolved, which you may not be able to do while working. Maybe they can't find people to work as that seems to be an issue everywhere. The weed eater works fine. Updated from one star to three based on resolving issues and a dead battery upon arrival, rather than the actual equipment working.

My trimmer broke on me last summer and I was in need of a nice powerful trimmer and behold Greenworks Cordless String Trimmer. I my yard is pretty big, but under an half an acker. With this trimmer I have a dual line that cuts the grass so much easier and the battery is outstanding. I can trim the front and back on one charge. I do recommend!

Dont buy broke after 3erd time using Battery was fully charged

Received yesterday, set up this morning in about 15 minutes or less which was easy with my little power screwdriver. Loved that I was able to place the handle exactly where I wanted. I’m coming from a smaller awkward 18 volt trimmer which was not exactly powerful and awkward to hold. This one is extremely comfortable for me, not awkward, not too heavy at all (but has a good solid feel) and it cut through things I didn’t think any string trimmer could! I was trimming on and off all day and the batteries just died late afternoon. I feel I got a lot of performance from the first charge. One of the strings disappeared late in the day so I took the time to try to understand what the manual said about the spool which wasn’t exactly clear to me! Everything came unwrapped and I had a panic. I took a risk and it seems I fixed it. I put the two lines of string in the holes of the spool and then rotated the spool counter clockwise to re-wrap. Then I fed the line into the little holders on each side of the unit carefully, put the cap back on and went out and it worked perfectly so I guess I did it correctly. If anything negative happens I will update this review for sure but so far I’m very pleased and actually extremely impressed with this trimmer!

Works great light easy to use beets gas one well over

Received package, opened up packaging and noticed scuff marks on the string cover as well as the shaft. It seems its been tampered with. The 2 attached batteries show fully charged but the trimmer only works/ cuts for about 2 seconds then times out and you got to keep pressing the trimmer switch, there is no continuous cutting. Very Disappointed, will be returning.

We are happy with it so far. When our gas one sprung a leak we decided to go electric. I had other greenworks products and have been happy with them. We likes this one so much we have bought the blower and hedge trimmer that use the same batteries which is super convenient. Power is just as good as out gas one and no more noise or fumes. We have a large yard ( third of an acre city lot ) and the battery can do the whole yard without issue.
