3.5mm MALE TO 2.5mm FEMALE STEREO HEADPHONE ADAPTER FOR IPHONE / BLACK

I first ordered a similar item except it turned ot to be 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male (although the picture showed the reverse). When I realized that this was not correct, I emailed SF Planet (the only way to contact them apparently)and received a snippy email telling me that I needed to read the title. I went back and re-ordered the supposedly correct item.The new one now fits (although as others have pointed out, the picture on this one is wrong as well). The new one, not only does not work (it does fit though), but it blew out my headset. It seems that there are two types of adapters -- ones that are for listening only and ones that also address speaking (based on the number of wires that are carried inside). If the wrong one is plugged into a headset with a microphone, it blows out the microphone.In my email, I was quite clear as to what I was looking for, so it would be helpful if the staff at SF Planet had a clue

I drove to Best Buy, Fry's Electronics and tons of different Radio Shacks and none of them had an adapter for me to use a Plantronics M114 headset with a 2.5mm plug to my Helio Ocean 2. The Helio Ocean 2 is different from the Helio Ocean 1. The 2 uses a 3.5mm female hole while the 1 uses the 2.5mm female hole. After reading all the other reviews and Helio forum about how stuff isn't standardized because most of the stuff available out there has only two sections rather than three, I tried this one.I was skeptical as other people in other reviews had purchased other adapters and it didn't work out for them. They just chalked it up to posterity since it was more expensive to return the items. Fortunately, I can say that this adapter, even though it was designed for the iPhone, it works with the Helio Ocean 2 and Plantronics M114 headset. I cannot claim that it works for any other combination since I haven't tested it.Best of luck to everyone else trying to find the right adapter. I've found mine.

This is great! I've had no problems, and my headphones stay plugged in all day long - 0 slip! Exceptional for the price, highly recommend

I purchased this product so that I could use my Platronics headset with my iPhone for long conference calls. What a disappointment. The adapter looks fine and fits perfectly, but the connection quality was so poor in terms of the static and distortion heard by those on the other end of the line, that I had to discontinue using it.I've just purchased another adapter from a different company. We'll see how well that one works. In the meantime, all I can say is avoid this product.

I'll echo J Purdy's review: this will connect a 2.5mm headset to an iPhone 3GS so you can HEAR the call, but you're still depending on the iPhone's mike to talk. Like J Purdy, at first I thought the headset mike was working but that was only as the iPhone itself was close by. Great minds think alike, I guess.The adapter provides decent quality for listening, but I'm only giving 3 stars as the use of the word "headset" in the title implies full support for a phone headset with mike, at least to me.If anyone has found a solution to connect a headset w/boom mike to the iPhone, please respond. I've spent hours looking for something that works - it really shouldn't be this hard. I see lots of earbud plus clip-on mike solutions, but I prefer the boom mike for long calls.Thanks!

I was desperately looking for an adapter where I could usemy existing hands free headset with the Iphone.I plugged my headset that I used with my previous LG phone into thisadapter and then plugged the other end into the Iphone, Perfection!Apple gives you ear buds with a mic to use in the box, but personallyear buds wont stay in my ears.I went to all the retail stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, ATT store, NOTHING!I was happy to find this item on Amazon, I have had no issues so far and I use it everyday. Had this for about a month.My only comment is on the construction, the wire thickness on the adapter is thinner that I would expect, so maybe after a while it may break.

Maybe I looked at the description wrong. But it just doesnt work. Perhaps i dont realize that there are many different types of these connectors for the SAME size? The problem seems to be that the stereo speakers should have been wired together for a mono sound but they aren't?Who knows and I'm not about to rewire it. I bought a simple ear piece/boom mic from here and tried to use with my Droid. No go for me.Your mileage may vary

I tried to use this for a plantronics headset, but the mic wouldn't work. I was able to hear the other side just fine. Don't order this, it doesn't work as advertised. One review mentioned that it worked perfectly when he purchased it back in 2008. That person added onto his review to say that they changed something in the design because he has this same problem with the adapter. Just a heads up before you buy and are disappointed.
