My few years old 3090 GPU was thermal throttling down to about 30% clock speed. I knew I had to do something about it, but I had never attempted to replace pads and paste on a GPU before. And all the research I had done about the Palit 3090 was worrying. The factory thermal pads are not standard sizes, and getting it right was supposed to be quite a challenge. I went for these pads because I heard about how soft they were, and how well suited they are to compressing. Application was easy, and the card went back together, first attempt, with no mounting pressure adjustment needed. I did use a torque screwdriver, but I'm sure I could have done without due to haw soft these pads are. My memory temps dropped around 20c, from reaching over 100c down to low 80s after the refurb. I also used a HeatPhase Ultra AMD Thermal Pad for the GPU die, and now it sits at 42-44c while idle/watching YT, and stays in the 60-70s when gaming (Sim racing, VR, Cranked settings on a Reverb G2!) I couldn't be happier with the performance and value. They made a daunting (for me) task, relatively easy. If I ever have GPU issues in the future, I would be very confident using Gelid pads.

This was recommended to repaste a 3090 GPU, after stripping the GPU down and repasting with this my temps while gaming dropped 15c, so very happy and happy to recommend to others

Received the item, says Gelid ultimate on the packaging, however after I opened it up and cut it, found it is actually the Gelid extreme thermal pad inside costs £15 pounds cheaper than the Gelid ultimate I ordered. Returned the item.

After 4 years with my RTX 3080, it started crashing when playing very graphic intensive games. I thought the card was literally cooked beyond repair, but a last suggestion online pointed to re-padding and pasting everything. Pulling off the heatsink and fans, I realized the factory pads were not only falling apart, the factorty applied the pads covering only 50% of the VRAM chips. Properly applied Gelid Ultimate and some good thermal paste on the GPU die. Not only did this fix the crashing issues, but I was able to overclock the card by 15% with cooler temps! Thank you Gelid!

Die Anwendung ist extrem fummelig, weil die knetartige Masse schon beim Anschauen auseinanderfällt. Die Haftung auf den Chips ist nicht besonders gut, daher wird das Entfernen der Schutzfolie auf der zweiten Seite (nach Auflegen der Pads) zur Geduldsprobe. Die Verpackung ist ziemlich mies und weil die Masse so empfindlich ist, kommt ein kleiner Teil vom Rand schon durch den Transport ausgeleiert an. Achja, und der Preis ist absolut unverschämt. Aber es gibt (leider) offenbar kaum etwas bessers auf dem Markt - die Leistung ist unglaublich! Die Pads haben die RAM-Temperatur meiner wassergekühlten 3080Ti von ~90°C auf 56°C reduziert - über 30°C Verbesserung! Davor hatte ich Wald-und-Wiesen 6W/mK Pads drauf, die waren für GDDR6X komplett ungeeignet. Dicke und Anpressdruck war in Ordnung - nach Abmachen des Kühlers konnte man einen klaren Abruck der Chips sehen, also war das Problem keine falsche Dicke sondern schlechte Wärmeleitung. Die Gelid Pads machen einen Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht (selber Kühler, selbe Grafikkarte und Rest des Systems). Wer die Fummelei auf sich nimmt und beim Preis wegschaut, kommt nicht drumherum.

Performs exactly as advertised, no mislabeling nonsense, and it genuinely works. Brought my RTX 3080 hotspot temps from 100°C down to ~65°C. I was thrilled with it in 2021, kicked myself for cheaping out on dodgy pads earlier this year, and had to buy the proper ones again before 2025 was over.

Temperature dropped by 10°C to 15°C. 🧊
