Speedball Oblique Pen Point Holder (ANH9455), 1 Count (Pack of 1)

Perfect pen holder, Speedball as advertised. I use this with "Speedball Assorted Hunt Artists' Pen Nibs no. 99 and no. 101" - works like a dream team. I've been learning calligraphy for the sake of DIY wedding stuff and this combo helped me learn quickly and is what I've been using to address our Invitations. I prefer the oblique holders to standard - they feel more natural in my hand despite looked odd when you first set it up. Light weight and easy to care for. Definitely recommend!

This little pen is invaluable if one does "Calligraphy" , especially "Copperplate" script. It looks simple enough, but once I started putting her through her paces she held up well - as did all of the knibs which I also bought to accompany her. They are light and easy to clean up after use. Just remember not to leave them lying for too long as the ink will dry and c log. Some inks will even rust the metal knibs, but observing best practices in using them will see good service for years to come.

The pen holder is very well made and, for what it is and the price, does the job really well. The pens are held in place, the holder is not heavy at all and seems fairly durable. I does accommodate many pen/nib sizes and can be used by left and right handed people. The only issue that you might encounter is that it could be a bit too thin for your hand. However, this strictly depends on the size of your hands. For someone with thin fingers and regular to small hands it would be perfect. For someone with the hands of a basketball player it would be too small and writing would be extremely difficult. You can always wrap something around the holder to make it thicker (like Madarasz used to), but this is a good pen holder for a beginner and not expensive at all. Keep in mind that hand made pen holders can go anywhere from $50 to a few hundreds of dollars. One more thing, do not leave the pens inside after you rinse them. They will rust and will be stuck in place, making it almost impossible to remove them without breaking the holder.

I wanted an oblique nib holder try my hand at calligraphy, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This was perfect for me. Very easy to use, sturdy, well made, and long lasting. I doubt anything will happen to mine, but if it does or if I ever lose it I will purchase the same one again.

It’s my fault that I didn’t know there is size for nib and calligraphy pen(nib holder). I purchased together with Zebra comic G nib, but it is too small for this pen, it slipped out from holder and dive into the ink. I ended up buying other nib holder from other company. You need to research which pen and nib fits before purchase.Pen itself is ok for beginners, but I could have spend another $10 and get a little better pen.

I bought this to try an oblique pen holder and I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money in case I don’t like it. It is perfect. Love that it’s lightweight, but well made.

Still getting the hang on writing in calligraphy in general again, but this is my first time writing with an oblique pen. After I ordered this, I read somewhere that the plastic ones by Speedball were not great, as they didn't let nibs go in so the end of the nib would be parallel to the center of the pen. Well, the nibs I have can all be pushed in further than you think- the end of the nib can be placed right, just push it in with more force- careful where you hold the nib, though. Overall, it serves it's purpose and for the price of 5 bucks?! Good deal! In the future I may buy a more expensive one, but this one is absolutely fine for the job.

I am currently teaching myself calligraphy, and many of the bloggers I follow suggest getting an oblique holder for calligraphy nibs. I am SO glad I did! It's made my studies easier and more beautiful, honestly. The angle is perfect for getting that thick-and-thin stroke without having mastered it yet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to advance their skills, or even just play around!

I ordered this pack unsure of what I was going to get. It says it’s a pack of six but some reviewers said they only got one pen holder. I got a box of six, as you can see in the photo. Great value for many. Totally recommend. Brilliant for beginners, as I am.

I know it is a bit expensive for a pen holder which costs 2$ in american amazon (100 rs) but there is no other available options for us to use especially if you are looking for an oblique oneSo i have been using this for like a year now and its been just perfect it serves its purpose very very well.The quality is good. However on the product it is nowhere mentioned it is of speedball but it is exactly like it. It handles all the colours thrown on it and also goes away on gentle soap washIt fits on all manuscript copperplate nibs (ef nib and the pumpkin) it fits on zebra g nib (both chrome and gold platted) and also on brause nibs so overall its worth buying it if you are seriously into calligraphy,It is my hobby and i am no expert. So for me it serves the purpose.I purchased 1 for 470 rs plus 30 rs delivery.Thumbs up if it helped!
