Overall, I am very happy with this desk. It's exactly what I was looking for for my home office and it fulfills my needs.PROS- Assembly - Despite what the other reviewers say, it was actually very easy to assemble, with all parts labeled correctly and easy-to-follow instructions. However, it was rather time-consuming -- which is fine if you're someone like me who enjoys building things!- Sturdiness - The desk is surprisingly very sturdy. I purchased another piece of Sauder furniture a year back, and it absolutely did not measure up to this desk.- Appearance - I truly do love the way that it looks. Sure, it's not super high-quality, but it gets the job done (and you can spruce it up!).CONS- Small Top Drawers - I was VERY disappointed to get to the FINAL step, inserting the assembled drawers, to find that the two small top drawers did not fit. I am a pro at assembling/building things, so I know to never over-tighten anything, and yet, still, the drawers didn't fit. Fortunately, I was able to store some of my book collection in the nooks, and I actually like it better than the drawers!- Large Bottom Drawers - It's important to note that the large drawers haaardly fit either, I really had to shove them in there, and they don't glide in/out easily. Luckily, they are usable for my storage needs. Make sure that you look up the dimensions of the large drawers as they are NOT the normal file cabinet dimensions (normal-sized files fit when placed in vertically, but not horizontally).- Packaging / Imperfections - The outer box of the package I received was in fairly good condition, but upon opening it, I saw that there were no protective barriers around/between the desk parts (huge no-no). Due to this, there were a number of scratches and chips -- I had to use Gorilla Glue to fix two of the drawer slides that had completely broken off.- Shipping - Know that this doesn't pertain to the desk itself, but given that it's a large package that can require a scheduled delivery (pending the carrier), it may be helpful to know that the shipping process was an absolute nightmare. I scheduled deliveries 3 separate times through one carrier, and the package never arrived. It took a week of back-and-forth, 6 long calls with Amazon Support and 4 support requests directly to the carrier to finally find out that the desk was "lost in transit" -- they sent me a new desk via USPS (thankfully), and it arrived very quickly thereafter.All in all, I do recommend purchasing this desk, however, I think it's important for buyers to be aware of the potential issues. Of course, this isn't a $750+ desk, so you shouldn't expect perfection -- if you can find creative workarounds, this will likely work for you, as it did for me! Also, highly recommend paying for the furniture protection insurance (just in case).

My wife has a beautiful, solid, useful desk in her office. What they don't tell you is that you need three men and a strong boy to assemble it. The step where a 40-pound table top will be lowered to the lower assembly with myriad dowels and cog keys is a beaut.

I wanted a desk that had NO keyboard tray, with drawers, and plenty of space on top. This desk fit the bill. It is a nice looking desk. Plenty of room for a couple of lamps to see by, my 24" desktop, phone, a cup of pens, and least, but not last, my coffee cup. Still some room left over so it doesn't look crowded. It did take awhile to assemble, doing this by myself. I do recommend reading each step thoughtfully as you assemble. It took me quite awhile to assemble taking my time and double checking my progress. Once finished, it was very stable and a good looking piece of furniture. Well worth the purchase. The only real drawback when done was the placement of the Grommet and Cap for the cords. Is is at an awkward position on the desk really. When looking at it and viewing the cord placement situation, there really wasn't a better place for it I reckon. The base for my desktop would sit on top of the cords and therefor be completely unstable. I had read about this issue on previous readers reviews so was aware of it. Just simply purchased a monitor stand (aye, from Amazon) when ordering this desk. The drawers slide in and out perfectly thanks to the Cam system once adjusted. All holes were pre-drilled and all were in perfect placement for the various screws, Cam dowels, and Cam screws. When I opened the box, I did separate all of the components and there were no bad pieces, no dings, and no scratches (more on this later). Everything seemed in perfect order and was very well packed. Tightly I might add. When this arrives at your door, be very prepared for a HEAVY box. You would be very well advised to get help. Or a two wheeled dolly to move it to the area of assembly. I did e-mail Sauder in regards to one bad piece. The Cap for the cord hole was disfigured. It could not be used. A replacement was sent right away. The top drawers could be considered a little on the shallow side but a stapler and roll of cellophane tape stand in them and am still able to open and shut them without interference. Bottom drawers fit what few hanging folders I have with no issues of the folder tabs rubbing or interfering in any way. The desk is very nice looking, sturdy, and roomy. Paper trays fit nicely in the space between the drawers if you have an inclination to use them. In my opinion, this desk is worth the purchase.
