Mixcraft 6 Recording Studio [Old Version]

I was in the market for a DAW (digital audio workstation) for a music project, but I didn't realize what a journey I was in for when I started. I downloaded almost every demo that was available out there to evaluate which one was best, at least for me.I tried one DAW where every little thing that I needed to do took at least a five minute search in the manual to figure out how to do something as simple as EQ-ing a track. Want to add an audio fx? Forgetaboutit. This got old very quickly and I tossed it. Another DAW looked more promising, and although the user interface was better, it was basically a Casio toy. One DAW company won't even let you try the demo without first paying up $25 for a reg key. Right.Finally I tried Acoustica's Mixcraft 6. The interface was easy to understand, everything I wanted to do was clearly marked, and I had my first tracks laid down in no-time at all. As easy as this software is to use, it is filled with professional features, FX, midi tracks, and more. Some users have stated that there are serious latency issues with the software, but this is due to using the wrong audio driver rather than not having a powerful computer. Download the ASIO drivers and you should be fine.I ran into a little bump in the road when trying to get my registration code from the Acoustica site so I could install the software. Evidently, some email services such as Yahoo or Hotmail drop or lose emails from Acoustica. Since the reg code is sent to you via email, you're in SNAFU-Land if the codes don't arrive. I looked up Acoustica's phone number on the Internet, gave them a call, and the rep took care of my problem in about 10 minutes. Customer service rocks!Acoustica's motto is "Software should be easy to use..." and they have certainly delivered on this promise. You can spend a ton more money for other DAW's, but for ease of use, features, and value, Mixcraft 6 is really hard to beat.

Very pleased with my demo for Mixcraft 6, so I bought the product. The support I have received from the techs at the company has been amazing. Excellent, thoughtful responses to my posts and analysis of my uploads to help me correct what I was doing wrong. The software is the most user-friendly music software out there and the integrated features are worth every penny. No need for a bunch of add-ons! In the future I may upgrade to the pro version but really, this has so much I don't think I need to. They really live by the motto that software should be easy to use. I'm more into playing than looping but this has full support of even competitive product loops including Acid loops, so that just multiplies all the stuff you can employ. Also the synth voicings are amazing. Check out the integrated Lounge Lizard interface and other built-in effects. A competitor took 3 MONTHS to answer a question. These people were on it within an hour, and I was using the free demo. That convinced me that this company cares about its customers.

As a musician I wanted computer software that had high sound quality and was easy to use. Creating quality tracks with this product was very easy. Whether you use the preset sounds or you own sounds, it's fast and easy. Mixcraft 6 doesn't have everything that Pro Tools has but it doesn't cost as much. If your focus is to get musical ideas down fast than this software will work for you. I use several VTS plug ins to enhance the tracks so this software works for me.

I absolutely love this product after using it for a while now. I use Band in A Box in a live performance situation every Saturday evening. I use Mixcaft to add mainly percussion loops but also other music as as I see fit. Putting all the pieces together using Band in a Box as the final mix is what I like so much about Mixcraft. It's extremely intuitive to work with and very easy to put all the pieces of my music together. I also purchased Beatcraft and that software works seamlessly with Mixcraft which makes adding another piece to the overall composition very easy. I wanted a something that would enable me to crank out additions to my Band in a Box songs in a quick and easy manner and Mixcraft excels in this. I think PG music should collaborate with Mixcraft by incorporating this piece of software with Band in a Box. I highly recommend Mixcraft as an add on to whatever else you're using to compose music on your computer with.

I bought this hoping it would be a Huge improvement from the old software i had(Audacity) but it was actually worse. It had tons of latency issues and the drum tracks get distorted. I say its provably because it was built for like 2000 dollar computers that can handle all that crap but i am just a college student on a budget. Overall, buy it if you have a super expensive computer that can handle all the requirements that it needs

I bought this for $80 and I must say if I would of known that they were gonna screw me over by saying that my trial was over when I entered my registration serial code when updated the program I never would of bought this program, I was looking forward to continuing my album I started last year and I got screwed over. I went to the official website to see if there was a number i can call for help but, I guess they knew all about this concinsidering they have no phone number on their website. Other than that it is a god program considering I have done othe trial of it many times before and I finally decided to purchase it and this bull crap happens saying that my trial was over when I already purchased the full version.

I still have not figured out how to make tracks for voice recording and the help section does a poor job or helping your find it.

As my headline says, I am still learning how to use this program, but of all the multi-track music programmes that I have looked at, this is the one that I feel most comfortable with. I can make mistakes with mixcraft and learn from them and adjust, rather than feeling that I have met an insurmountable problem. This is in no small part due to my purchase of, "Making music with Mixcraft and Garagecraft", please see my review elsewhere. I will probably need to use this programme for a year before exploring its capabilities fully and being able to submit a more informative report. However, while this is an extremely capable programme, it is also very user friendly in presentation to and operating procedure for the novice.
