Comfortable multi purpose boot for around town and light hikes
I’ve had a few Oboz shoes and they’ve generally been great. These are more on the casual side compared to the stiff, burly hikers like Bridgers. These fit the bill for a comfortable leather boot that is good looking and not too sporty or technical looking so they pair well with office casual so you can wear them to the office especially in winter when you want something for when its wet or snowy outside. And they also are decent hikers for getting out on easier hikes.Fit: They have a more relaxed fit with more roomy toe box than other Oboz. In bridgers I need to get wide sizes even though I have D width feet, but the standard width on these are plenty wide. They do run a bit short like other Oboz though so recommend going up a half size. My size is 13-13.5 and these fit great for me in 14. I really like the lacing system they used (I hate speed lace hooks so glad these have loops and eyelets) and you can cinch down really well and customize your fit easily.Comfort: They did take some breaking in. Initially I had some areas on the top of my foot and ankle that were uncomfortable, but after about 5 or 6 wears they became very comfortable. I found wearing them with the laces loose helped break them in well.Support: One of my favorite things about Oboz is they actually come with well designed insoles that stabilize the heel and have good arch support. They are one of the few brands I don’t have to replace the insoles on. Right there that saves about $40. The support for the arch etc. is very good, solid but with some give, not super rigid. Again, the support is more relaxed compared to Oboz’s more heavy duty hikers. Good ankle support too and the lacing system makes it easy to dial that up or down.Tread/Grip: The tread pattern gives good traction on wet and dry ground, and on packed dirt/gravel trails. Pretty good on snow too. On ice it does OK… about as good as you can expect from a non-winter specific rubber. The tread is a bit closely spaced so in muddy conditions, it can get packed in with mud pretty bad.Waterproofness: This is one area where the boots are a bit lacking. When wearing in wet or snowy conditions I did get some water inside. Not a lot but enough to be a bit annoying. Not sure if that was the membrane leaking or just poor breathability. Also the leather got saturated pretty fast in wet conditions. This improved after treating with Niwax.Overall these are really nice boots with a few minor downsides. If looking for something you can wear to work and then hit a trail without changing, these do well.

Very comfortable from the first
I received these yesterday. From the moment I put them on, they very comfortably hugged my feet. I have flat feet and wear plastic orthotics. There was plenty of room for them. My ankles feel well supported. I like the look of them. . . How they wear is an unknown, but they seem well made of study materials. No buyers regret with this purchase.

Phooey ...They're Uncomfortable
Size 11. Nice looking shoes and I assumed that these would just be a street version of the Sawtooth X Mid - same fit and comfort. Nope. First off, the bend (or crease) at the toe collapses onto my toes; it is very uncomfortable. (The area is actually collapsed straight out of the box.) The second hotspots are the tongue gussets - the material is thick and stiff which forms a lump that digs into my ankles. This is out-of-the-box. I think these would become painful worn for a couple hours. They are also about 5mm shorter and a tad narrower than the Sawtooth of the same size. Sorry, but I was very disappointed.
