The reviews are right the treble is a little rolled off but apart from that these are truly excellent! Instrument placement and detail is stunning
I am a audio junkie some would say audiophile i own and have owned various daps, x7 ,opus1, n3, mojo and loads more besides. Iems include flarespro, oriveti new primacy, re 400 pinnacle p1 and too many to mention.I have owned these iems for about 3 weeks now and first of all they do need a lot of burn in, secondly they may seem a little aenimic on first listen and thirdly these are not bass head iems. The reviews are right the treble is a little rolled off but apart from that these are truly excellent! Instrument placement and detail is stunning, mids are lovely and sound natural, bass has a nice texture and rumble to sub bass.As I said they will come across aenimic at first but what they actually are is pretty darn neutral and resolving with some of the best detail and placement i have ever heard. When comparing to other iems you start to notice how coloured other iems are, they are an excellent reference point in my opinion. All in all fantastic sound and a definite keeper. Fingers crossed the build holds up because I would be truly sad to lose these.

Snore, but ij a nice way.
I'm a long time HiFiman user starting with the original RE-0, and owning HE-560 and HE-400i headphones.I read the reviews, which all say they are good, neutral IEMs which is what I like.Well built, look and feel good. Comfortable to wear with low microfonics when moving around or walking.Cheap looking packaging and carrying case.Ran a freq sweep and these perform very well, but when listening to the cuts I use for evaluating phones and speakers these are just blah.I can't find anything wrong with them but they leave me flat and bored with anything I listen to. Too neutral? Is there such a thing?Burned them in for 50 hours and they still give me the blahs.Great to put me to sleep except they stick out of my ears too far to sleep with them in.I use the RE-0 or Acoustech 980s for that.Tried a pair of rebound foam tips which improved the bass slightly, though they needed little help as they came.I prefer my RE-0, Klipsch x7i or Meelectronics A161P IEMs with foam tips.Put them away to revisit another day.UPDATE:Been using them more and beginning to appreciate how good they are.Nothing jumps out and I prefer my other IEMs for specific purposes but all around these are a great pair. They always sound good, sometimes great, are never tiring and don't distract from whatever I'm listening to.

Good sound, bad build quality.
The sound is very balanced and neutral. While it's of course, nowhere near as high in clarity compared to etymotic hf5 or er4s, it still sports high clarity.Unlike the etymotic IEMs, these have a decent bass response, it's decently punchy, but it's not very deep or heavy.Overall, I'd say that the sound is bright, and it honestly is one of the best sounding IEMs I've used. For an IEM, the soundstage is noteworthy, of course, it pales in comparison to over the ear open headphones, but they're fairly spacious for what they are.Personally, if it wasn't for the fact that it died on me in less than 2 weeks, I probably would have kept these. The cable seems fairly robust and it's very tangle-free, but the plug is very finnicky and that's where the weakest point is.It doesn't help that for whatever reason, hifiman decided to go for an I plug instead of an L plug like for their RE0s or the RE400s.This seems to be a fairly common complaint, as I've seen this same opinion concerning the quality regurgitated over the net.

Awesome IEMs that delivery clarity and detail
If you want headphones that deliver good detail, separation and well balanced Bass, Mids and Highs... look no further, Just get the RE600S V2. I am very impressed with these babies. Only gripe - the iem wire is very thin and may break easily if you are not careful. I compared these with Shure SE215, Klipsch, 1More tripple driver, and Audeo(all I own). These win hands down on all accounts. For serious listening I use Audeze LCD-2, I wanted a good quality IEM with out breaking the bank, that comes close to the Audeze LCD2s atleast 60% in performance so I can listen in public spaces (transit / airplanes). But these held up to a 78% on my scale compared to the LCD2. I am very happy I can use these in public spaces and still get a sound to my liking.Note: These have fantastic and very tight bass and some sub bass as well, they are not bass heavy. I cannot appreciate bass heavy phones as they change the color of the music completely. These deliver the right and accurate bass like the mix is originally intended / recorded.

Sound is incredible for under $200, paint/gloss started chipping off almost a month after
Sound is incredible, build quality is questionable.Out of the box, they really lack a good seal with the tips included, but I found that any other universal tips with a good seal and good noise cancellation worked wonders for them. These earbuds are very light, and their sound competes with some of the iems I own that are triple its price point. The case included is a bit bulky, so I found it best to buy another case for them. The biggest issue that I have had with them, is the paint started to wear off after a month on one of the drivers. While It may not cause actual damage to the product, it really starts to lose the look to match the sound quality. While I am sad that the look has started to wear, these are still some of my favorite earbuds that I own.

Audio Bargain of the Year
I have eight headphones and earphones, and three headphone amps. I have listened to the RE-600's through all of the latter, and it is hard to understate what a great performer it is. Great bass (and I don't mean pounding and boomy), crystalline highs . . . if I had to find fault, it seems to me that the mid-range is a slight bit retiring/underempasized, but that is a quibble. The eartips which come with them are pretty comfortable, and very efficiently seal and isolate. These are extremely accurate, but that is not even their strongest suit; It is the superb imaging and soundstage that make them sound like 'buds many times their price. These are to my mind a tremendous value. I have for the moment abandonded my Oppo PM3 planar magnetic 'phones for them. Very impressive.

straight up great sound
These are very clean, accurate sounding earphones that deliver a very balanced presentation, with good detail and soundstage. They are comfortable and very lightweight to wear. The packaging is impressive, but not particularly well thought out. It comes in a handsome, large faux-leather box with metal insert, which somehow is not large enough to include the travel case and extra eartips, included separately. Opening the magnetic box flaps, the earphones are beautifully presented in a foam cutout, from which they are very difficult to remove and require a great deal of tugging. A number of double-flange eartips are also presented in foam cutouts, but hidden underneath the foam are yet another set of eartips, this time the valuable Comply-branded foam eartips. So with eartips in three spots, the new owner will be pleased with the amount of choice, but wonder if they were afterthoughts. The travel case is zippered with firm sides, and does a good job of protecting the earphones, but seems a little too small. One is tempted to ball the earphones up to fit them in without getting caught in the zipper, which is an unfortunate cable stress for a brand known for issues with premature cable breakages. The earphones are small and light to wear, and with the variety of tips you can easily find one which stays comfortably in the ear and provides the right seal to reveal all the details present in these pleasurable earphones.I understand why Hifiman refers to them as "monitors", the industry term for a piece of audio equipment suitable for use in a studio when audio playback is required to be as clean, accurate, detailed, and true to source as possible. Most earphones are tweaked or tuned to highlight one musical area over another: the RE600 is designed to be as flat a presentation as possible, providing an uncoloured view into the music. At first this can sound lean, especially with the single-flange eartips, and less so with the foam Complys eartips. But eventually the listener relaxes and is absorbed into the music, and appreciates the perfect balance, and other earphones begin to sound coloured in comparison. The RE600 has a bit of hiss with my amplifiers, and lacks a bit of body played straight out of the phone, so I would say it is not optimized for either device, but plays well with both. Hifiman sells their own players which are likely the optimal way to listen, but I do own a HiFiman tube headphone amplifier and that was a very nice pairing as well, with some extra atmosphere from the tubes.Aside from being accurate, the RE600 also have a spacious feel to them, with a delicate tone that responds well to the piano and similar instruments. Bass is tightly defined but never boomy, so things like kick drums have great impact and clarity.Comparing to similarly priced earphones, the RHA MA750 ($130) have a much more uneven sound. Although the MA750 are fuller sounding, the are not nearly as accurate and are more fatiguing a listen. Compared to the Sony XBA-H1 ($135), the RE600 are more delicate with the treble and not as forward in the mid range. The Sonys are more of a fun listen, less like monitors.Inevitably, one must compare the RE600 to their half-priced but identically shaped sister, the RE400 ($60). They both have a similar sound signature, and for the money the RE400 is hard to beat. But for twice the price, the RE600 gives you a firmer bass, more spacious mid range, some additional clarity in the treble, and a little more detail over all. It's subtle, and if you aren't listening closely you could mistake one for the other. If they are twins, the RE600 is the more studious one, and the RE400 is the one who likes to party more.Overall, I think the RE600 doesn't get a lot of attention, because they are so evenly balanced that there isn't much to talk about, plus unlike the RE400 which is unbeatable for the price, the RE600 is in a price range with a lot of competition. But if you value accuracy, balance and detail above all, I can't think of another earphone which betters it for the money.

I got the old version of the advertised item.
I ordered 2 earbuds of the new version which is the « Re600s V2 Songbird ». Instead, I got the old version which is the « Re600 ». The new version was the one advertised. I never wanted the old version because they are known to be very fragile and tend to break fast. According to what we read on the various forums. The new version is much more solid. This is totally unacceptable!
