Review + Full Episodes Listing
Even the most common, ordinary objects in the modern world and history may contain secret messages, steeped in codes and symbols. Brad Meltzer's Decoded is a show where the viewer follows a team of investigators who try to determine the meanings behind various symbolism, alleged secret codes and conspiracies that surround us everyday. In each episode, these credible researchers will travel far and wide to examine the clues and decode the hidden meaning behind these seemingly innocuous origins. They will canvas the darkest reaches of the world to connect dots toward revealing a deeper truth.I love this show. I'm not a Conspiracy Theorist or a Conspiracy buff, I just enjoy watching shows dealing with Historical and unsolved mysteries. I agree with some critics that the show is far from being perfect, but each episode is full of interesting and fascinating information, and I've learned a lot while watching these episodes. Keep an open mind while watching this show, and don't take EVERYTHING they say too seriously. If, like me, you buy a lot of Historical documentaries on DVD then add this set to your collection, you won't regret it. The show is not perfect, maybe not for everyone, but it's definitely a fun show to watch. Enjoy ! :)This set contains all 10 episodes from Season 1, each episode is 45 minutes long.1. The White HouseBrad and the team continue the 200-year search for the mysterious White House cornerstone. Supposedly laid down in 1792 by members of the secretive Freemasons, records are sketchy on the history of this stone which has been sought after by those such as Harry S. Truman and Barbara Bush.2. Secret Presidential CodesBrad and the team investigate the suspicious suicide of one of the world's greatest explorers, Meriwether Lewis, (of Lewis and Clark fame), who may have died while in possession of secret codes for president Thomas Jefferson and clues that his death may have been an assassination.3. Statue of LibertyBrad and the team study the iconic Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom and prosperity, or so it seems until they uncover symbolism on the structure that may reflect a more sinister meaning and its significance to the "power number" of "7".4. The Lincoln AssassinationBrad and the team look into 150-year-old rumors that John Wilkes Booth wasn't killed 12 days after he assassinated President Abraham Lincoln, but escaped with the help of a look-alike and aided by the Confederate military to go on to live another 40 years.5. Confederate GoldBrad and the team try to decipher secret messages and cryptic maps left behind by the mysterious "Knights of the Golden Circle" who may have hid millions of dollars worth of silver and gold from the Confederate treasury in secret caches across America.6. D.B. CooperBrad and the team investigate evidence focusing on suspect Kenneth Christiansen, that he may have been hijacker D. B. Cooper, who in 1971, bailed out of an airliner at 10,000 feet over Washington state, with $200,000 in ransom money and was never seen again - the only unsolved airline hijacking in U.S. history.7. 2012Brad and the team work to decipher the meanings behind numerous ancient prophecies, from the predictions of Nostradamus, to Hopi and Mayan legends, to Muslim and Christian texts, to even predictions made by an internet analysis program called the Web Bot, that supposedly warn of worldwide destruction in the year 2012.8. The President's Inner CircleBrad and the team look into the history and the people involved in the Culper Spy Ring - a covert team of ordinary citizens; shopkeepers, tavern owners and housewives - who played a vital role in helping save the United States by spying on the British during the Revolutionary War, over 200 years ago.9. Secret SocietiesBrad sends his team in to penetrate the Bohemian Grove - a secretive and tightly guarded gathering of the elite in a Northern California redwood forest, to pursue rumors of bizarre rituals, sacrifices and secret meetings said to influence the lives of everyday Americans. Joining them is conspiracy talk radio host Alex Jones who secretly video taped a grove ritual in July 2000.10. Apocalypse in GeorgiaBrad's team goes to Elberton, Georgia to investigate the Georgia Guidestones - a granite monument commissioned by a mysterious individual, "R.C. Christian", (who is suspected to be part of the Rosicrucian sect), whereupon multilingual messages are written that some suggest are plans to rebuild civilization after an apocalyptic disaster.

Seriously, lay off the Freemasons
I love Brad's comic book work- Identity Crisis is amazing!- but I admit I'm more of a Professor Langdon guy when it comes to "hidden symbol" novels. Still, I'm not someone who always accepts established history- okay, maybe I believe Oswald and Ray were lone gunmen, but I've got questions when it comes to Halpman and the deaths of Billy the Kid and Jesse James- so for me this is a fun show. But for the love of God, enough with the Freemasons! Seriously, they don't have to be at the center of EVERYTHING, and most of the guys who are talking about them in the show sound like they just escaped Shutter Island. (Warning, have not watched that movie, so my reference may be off)

Decoded A Great History
Brads team is awesome and well put together. It's interesting to see facts, places, events, and coverage. Of some of the greatest mysteries, questions, and conspiracy theories in history. The series is very awesome and educationally. Should be shown to people in school. Just for the pure perspective of getting different ideas.

A Fun, Yet Thought Provoking Series
These shows were very fun and informative, showing there may be an additional story / facts behind some of the big events in our history such as the assassination of Abe Lincoln , D.B. Cooper's plane hijacking and some of America's most famous landmarks the White House and The Statue of liberty ). A team of three investigators, each specializing in different fields, thoroughly research a topic and at the end of the show, they each explain if they agree with the findings they've uncovered. It was really interesting how this show makes one stop and think. You might not agree with the beliefs / hypothesis's of the people who get interviewed by the investigators, but if it makes people more interested in American history.... remember when, "Titanic" came out and every body was googling info about it? .... and gets them psyched / piques their interest into looking up more historical information on a subject, then this series is a success.

Great information!
This program is one of a few since the 200th anniversary of Meriwether Lewis' untimely death, in 1809. This and other programs have shed new light onto the controversy as to whether or not the "official" record of his death should be changed from "suicide" to "murder." I saw this program when it came out and wanted to review it again for a project I'm working on. Well Done!

I love Brad Meltzer
Ok, before I review this, I have to say that I was already a huge Meltzer fan before I saw the show. That being said, the show is absolutely wonderful. The team looks at different historical mysteries and travels to talk to experts and find clues. The team is great - they all have such different opinions, so they each give something unique to the show. Meltzer, himself, is hilarious! Although he does not travel with the team, he provides many of the contacts while cracking jokes and analyzing the team's research. The History Channel produced the show, so you know that it is well executed.

An excellent brain teaser and factual content is presented in a thrilling exciting way.
An excellent and well put together show. Mysteries are explored, legends are investigated and history revealed; all in a manner that not only works your brain muscles, but stimulates your imagination and allows you make your own decisions based on fact not fiction. All the characters from the lawyer to the engineer to the history teacher genuinely incorporate the musings and stay in touch with the common man's ponderings. Excellent entertainment and makes learning facts fun, but can also thrill you by leaving you still looking for answers in a good way. Brad Meltzer's Decoded: Season 1

??????????????????????????????
Went into this program with lots of questions and no answers and ended up finishing watching this program with lots of questions and no answers. There must be better programs on such topics than this one.It was like watching a small group of people filming themselves as they went about from one tourist attraction to another and the disconcerted looks at one another and the word "Wow" were very much overused. There is a great deal of difference when someone with genuine passion and knowledge walks you through a topic filled with all the things they love than watching a group of people who are simply there for the bucks - hense the word "Wow!" being used again and again. Lord Clark, for instance, does not use the word "Wow!" even once right throughout the documentary Civilisation. And if he had have stood before Michaelangelo's marbel sculpture of David and exclaimed "Wow!", I don't think we would still be buying it some 50 years later on Blu ray.Bottom line? Not very deep, not very involving, not very good at all, if the truth be important enough to actually be known. The woman “investigator???” – “scientist???” was kinda cute though, so not a total waste.Don't squander your money.Nuff said...
