Misidentified plants
I like the info in the book, but it really isn’t Native American herbs. It’s global. That’s fine. I started to lose interest with two wrong pictures, and the last straw was when it said marshmallow root could be found in the candy isle! I’ll keep it though.I bought this book knowing it wouldn’t really enhance my own knowledge, but this can not be relied on for beginners. Beginners please please PLEASE look elsewhere!

There are so many people addicted to medicines than there ever has been before. All the commercials and advertisements keep pushing all these pharmaceuticals on us, that we eventually give in. We honestly don’t need any of it. This book teaches us that. It explains the spiritual history of Native Americans, a complete course in Herbalism, more than 87 Native American plant profiles, 37 common ailments, modern warnings, and more than 150 tried and tested amazing healing recipes carefully selected for us by the best herbalists.

Everything you need to know about herbs and natural remedies
This series of books helps you learn all about Native American Herbalism in a variety of ways from growing your own herbs to storing them to common remedies to DIY recipes for healing and so much more. The books start out by talking about how to collect, dry, store, and use herbs, as well as the tools you will need. It covers various herbs and what they are for. I liked that a picture was included for each herb. Examples of herbs include elderberry, St. John’s Wort, turmeric, and aloe vera. Later we also learn how to grow herbs and how to use them. For example, mint can be used to help with tension headaches. And we learn all about mint and how to grow it- including what soil to use, how much water is needed, what garden type, and what it can be planted near. We then learn all about the Native American Medicine treatment approach, healing plants, and herbal formulas. There are so many health benefits of herbs and healing properties of plants. For example, garlic can be a remedy for preventing colds. I like how the author separated remedies for different ages beginning with children as needs change as we get older. There are so many herbal recipes for things such as teas, popsicles, ice cubes, baths, infusions, and more. Lastly, there is information about extracting from herbs and plants to make essential oils and then some recipes so you can make them at home!

I find this to be a wonderful book collection about Native American herbs. I especially like that this includes pictures of the herbs so you can tell by sight what the herb is by name. I also like the book that talks about different teas how to make different teas and popsicles and what to combine for an herbal bath. This is a well organized and well written book collection.

Many Mistakes & No Index
Some chapters are so riddled with grammar mistakes and exactly repeating paragraphs, or partly repeating paragraphs, that one starts to doubt if the information is trustworthy due to printing mix-up and the like. Many of the herbs mentioned are already in many gardens. Although helpful, I was looking more for wild herbs. Also with no indexing, it was near impossible to match up id herbs to sections that may give the recipe for using them to treat which ailments. It still could be used as a launching point into the art of wildcrafting; however for the money spent, there must be better resources...

Great book, however disappointing that its in Black and White. Plants have Colour and in order to identify them properly you need to see them properly.
