Perfect Fit!
I love most things about my AKG K240S headphones, except that the stock pleather ear pads were very sweat-inducing and sticky, and they fit very loosely around my ears. I had ordered velour ear pads for another headphone and I really liked those, so I decided to search Amazon for velour ear pads for the K240S. There aren't many options, but I came across these, and considering the reasonable price, I thought I'd give them a try. I got them, put them on, and WOW, what a tremendous improvement in comfort over the stock pads! The velour pads are soft and dry on my ears, and because, as others have mentioned, the hole in the center of them is of a smaller diameter than the stock pads, they fit more snugly around my ears, with none of the looseness and unwanted movement of the stock pads. I do not notice any difference in audio quality with these, either better or worse, although considering the outstanding comfort level, it wouldn't matter much to me if there was a slight change. One thing to note is that these ear pads are not only made in China, they actually ship from China, something I failed to note when I ordered them. I received them in a little over two weeks by U.S. Mail, which was actually quite a bit faster than the 4 to 6 week time frame I was given by Amazon upon placing the order. All in all, these ear pads greatly improved the comfort and wearability of my AKG,s, and I am very happy with this purchase.Edit: After using the headphones for a couple of weeks with the velour pads, i began to feel that my music was sounding a little muffled and lacking clarity, so I decided to try the original pleather ear pads again. Well, this restored the clarity and detail in the music that I had been missing, and removed much of the muddiness and bloatedness of the bass that I had been hearing. So, I am back to the OEM ear pads. I do miss the comfiness of the velour pads somewhat, but in the end, I had to go with sound quality over comfort. Caveat emptor.

Awesome replacement. I am happy as a clam (Do clams have ears? Do they wear headphones?)
Excellent replacement Earpad Cushion for my AKG K240 Headphones.I have had this headphones for over 20 years, yet they still sound better than most "El Cheapo" newer headphones I have tried. The only problem was that the vinyl pads that came with it had no more padding. Who knows what happened inside, but it felt more like someone put river rocks in them.I was just about to buy a new set of cans of the same type (which are a lot cheaper than back in the day, unless my memory is shot) but I stumbled upon "replacement pads" as an item. You could have knocked me out with a feather. Who knew such magic was possible? Eventually, I settled on these based on material, price, and reviews. When they arrived I struggled only minimally to put them on, but eventually I found the trick (Use as many fingers and hands as you have, 12 and 4, respectively, would be best, but I made do with 10 and 2 since I have been unable to modify my DNA in time). Not it feels like I have new headphones. They sound great and they are not as hot as they used to be when worn for a long time. The velvet material breathes a bit better than the vinyl (Make no mistake: they are still hot, but less so).If you have an old pair of AKGs by all means go for these. I haven't tried the original replacements, but they cost almost as much as the new headphones would. It makes no sense. These are plenty good enough.

They’re fine
A bit scratchy feeling when they’re brand new but they smooth out once broken in

AVOID THESE!!! *UPDATED* NO, GET THESE!!!
These pads feel really good for the first few minutes. Then they start to feel like two bricks on the sides of my head. Don't waste your money on these cheap pads!!! Just buy the HiFiMAN velour pads for a few more bucks instead.*UPDATE* 7/17/2015Well I gave these another chance and found that these are really comfortable. The real problem was not in the earpads at all. It was really the way I was wearing my headphones. Normally I'm used to wearing on-ear to smaller over-ear headphones, such as the panasonic rphtx7 and the skullcandy hesh 2 to name a couple. My akg k240s are my first pair of full sized over-ear headphones, so I had to get used to wearing them on a larger area of my head (the area behind my ears). Usually with my other headphones I don't really have a problem putting them on or over the cartilage of my ears and still have them touch a smaller area of my head behind my ears. When I got my akgs, I was trying to wear them as if they were smaller over-ear headphones. Which resulted in the back of ears being pressed against the large cushions of the earpads. So when I finally learned to accept that larger area of my head being covered, these earpads became like pillows. As for the hifiman velour pads, they are a bit stiff and require some breaking in.*BOTTOM LINE*These are very comfortable for the price. Although the material is not as fancy as a pair of velour hifiman earpads, they are definitely more soft out of the bag.

Great product - I'm ordering more.
I looked at all the various aftermarket earpads for the phones I use, and while some of them looked very nice, I can't see shelling out more than 25 bucks for a pair of earpads. I went with these because the pic looked nice and they were only 10 bucks. They were much harder to put on than OEM earpads are, in fact, I was worried that I would damage them, but they survived the process nicely. (You have to be fairly forceful with them...) My application is for the AKG K271 - my trusty pair had earpads that were cracked and squished...these are better than OEM, they're soft, quite comfortable. This model will also fit the AKG K240 series, and I have three of those, so all of them are getting these earpads, even one pair that is brand new. I wear glasses and the OEM earpads press too hard, making my ears hurt like crazy right where the earpieces of my glasses go under. Not so these - they're excellent. BONUS - a pair of foam circles is included. On AKGs, the foam circles are not part of the earpads, they're glued to the plastic earcup chassis over the driver. I didn't need to use them, but it's nice to have spares.
