Worked well for my outside dryer vent

I really like this design concept. The white screen part fits very snugly into the black part with friction only, which seems to work well - though I'd probably have thrown a screw into the white flange to be sure it doesn't fall out in the winter. The black body has wings that you squeeze with your hands when you put this up into the hole, and then expand back out to hold it in place, works pretty well. The black body is not 3 inches in diameter, more like 2-3/4 inches. This wasn't an issue for us because we had flex tubing, if you're using rigid tubing this might be a problem. Finally, we didn't end up using the white part because it restricted the air flow too much. The screen is just too fine. It cut about half the airflow. I ended up using the old cap from the vent we were replacing, modifying it to fit the black part. It wasn't perfect but worked much better. The old vent cap used screen door material, which let a lot more air past. I'm not saying this is bad, or that you will need to do this. And, maybe you want a finer screen to keep out certain insects. For us, airflow was more important. I'm giving 4 stars because the diameter isn't what is stated and the screen is too restrictive, but still like the overall concept.

This definitely does the job I wanted it for but there are a couple of flaws: 1. The vent cover is held on by friction only. I was afraid to break it when removing it, but I finally managed to pry it loose. You’ll need a flat blade screwdriver to pry it out enough to get a good grip for pulling it out. I could see this loosen up through removal for cleaning and temperature changes. 2. There was no information on the size of hole to cut. I guessed at 75mm and it came out pretty well, but I could have gone a little smaller. There are three “wings” that center the vent housing inside the opening and then the duct can be screwed in from the outside. BTW, you have to provide your own screws.

Great quality. I needed to vent out a resin printer and this was the end of that train. Now all those fumes can float over to my neighbors house which is fine since he hates me anyway. I am not sure why but he still has my rake.
