i love this book

Shows the combined pressure of being a woman and monarch in Imperial times.Despite her many flaws & personal issues, has to be commended on her longevity on the throne. Great work on a subject most wouldn't have on their to-read list.

A well summarised history of one of the longest reining queens.

I liked this book a lot because it was imformative yet at the same time not lengthy or boring. I recomend this book for those who want to know about the queen but don't have the time or patience to read lengthy history books. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR THOSE RESEARCHING ABOUT THE QUEEN .

As an Indian subject amazed to see the brashness of a luxuriou life through Queen Victoria at the cost of millions of conquered subjects.

Excellent history book

The reading is easy and VERY pleasant. I'm practicing my English and this book was very helpful for that (easy language but also lots of new vocab) and for entertainment with some facts (since I live biographies). Great job.

The book is chonical of the life and reign of Queen Victoria’s life, who reigned over Great Britain and Ireland for a good part of the 19th Century. The narrative focused on present providing the subject matter in a concise manner, easily readable in one to two hours. Victoria's story is a difficult one to tell if only for its duration. Victoria lived for 81 years and was Queen for 63 years, six decades during which the industry, economy, society and foreign policy of Great Britain changed dramatically. The world Victoria was born into was a very different one to that which she left behind, and her life story is an incredible journey from infant heir to Queen and Empress.This book was professionally researched from numerous primary and secondary sources, written, and published by Hourly History. This publishing house has produced an extensive collection of thoroughly researched, concise, informative, and well written historical texts designed to be read in one to two hours. This historical collection is focused on chronicling the lives of important historical persons, key events, nations, and peoples. I have read a number of their offerings and found each volume well written, researched, informative and presented with an unbiased perspective.This book was well researched and written. It was presented to provide the information in a concise manner. I found that it explained a very complex person and the actions she took, in a remarkably clear and understandable manner. Further, it promotes a better understanding of the history that shaped Great Britain and the English speaking world. Readers who enjoy history and biographies, or those who are interested in knowing more about Queen Victoria and her influence on British history, will enjoy this book.

Nun gut: Dies ist eine Kurzbiographie, die man in einer Stunde lesen kann. Für eine Dame, die allein 63 Jahre lang regierte, ist es keine leichte Aufgabe, ihr Leben in so kurzer Form zu schildern. Und das merkt man: Teils gibt es kleinere Sprünge, mal wird über die Jahre hinweggegangen, die weniger ereignisreich waren. Und dennoch gelingt es dem Autor - in einem ansprechenden Schreibstil - Victoria deutlich zu charakterisieren. Und das ohne den Leser auf eine Deutung festzulegen. Die Freiheit, Victorias (Fehl-)Verhalten zu verstehen, zu billigen, zu verurteilen oder wie auch immer zu beurteilen behält man. Das ist gut gemacht.Im Endeffekt eine gut investierte Stunde Lebenszeit. Die Kürze zu kritisieren ist hier nicht opportun: Das ist das Konzept und wer es wirklich wissen will, braucht halt eine 500-Seiten Bio. Für ein kostenloses eBook (vielen Dank!) und in der vorgesehenen Länge ist das ein richtig gutes Werk, dem ich viele Leser wünsche.
