BG109 Compression Engine Performance Restore - Surprising Results
My girl friend has a 2016 Kia Sorento with a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder engine. It currently has covered about 91,000 miles and has a love of consuming engine oil to the tune of one quart every 240 miles. I switched it from a well know synthetic to a high grade synthetic and saw an improvement to 450 miles per quart. As a younger man I worked as a car mechanic on mostly British cars and later got a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering which has allowed me to have a great understanding of many mechanical things including engines. I thought it would be worth trying an internal engine cleaner to help clear the oil return holes common the piston oil control ring groves. If these small holes are clogged with oil gum they prevent oil scraped from the cylinder bore from being able to return to the crankcase and thereby not be burned. I tried a known brand of engine cleaner which removed a fair bit of gunk but did not result in reduced oil consumption. A bunch of internet research later brought me to BG109 that in many cases produced spectacular engine performance improvement and oil consumption reduction. I purchased BG109, followed the instructions from their website, set engine rpm to 1200 and ran it for 55 minutes while monitoring oil pressure. I was surprised by how much gunk came out even after the prior cleanings. I performed a normal oil/filter service. I was hopeful of good results but in reality didn’t think I would see much difference. I was genuinely shocked on my first drive because the car had so much more power and ran so smoothly. The car has now run about 350 miles and has only consumed about ⅛ of a quart of oil. I’d call that a victory. I plan to do one more cleaning after about 2,500 miles. All I can deduce is that BG109, when used correctly, is capable of doing what it says it will do. Its not a big investment to risk considering what it might save one in fuel, oil and engine life.

Oil comes out like ink
3K oil change, always serviced the car with top grade synthetics at 3K. Oil was still clear on dipstick but color of honey.Ran 30 minutes with 10oz. of BG 109, oil came out like ink.

The beat stuff you can run in vehicles before oil change. We used this stuff at my shop when I was a mechanic and I still use this stuff today

Simply the best product for freeing sludged piston rings.
Simply the BEST engine cleaner on the market. Most people think these cleaners are snake oil and I agree, however BG products are a completely different story. 109 EPR actually frees stuck piston rings, cleans and dissolves sludge and keeps it suspended for enough time for it to drain out with the oil instead of just redistributing it throughout your engine. It can and will save a failing engine.

No difference
there is no difference in engine power nor did it release the stuck piston rings. It did not resolve the oil consumption problem.

Has made an unbelieve difference to a Nissan 3.5 liter V6
I read good things about this product, but cannot believe the difference it has made to a 2003 QX4/Pathfinder. It has restored low and mid-range torque to such an extent that it feels like a different engine. I followed the directions to the letter, plus did an oil filter (only) change 400 miles after the treatment out of an over-abundance of caution (did not want to risk running the engine with a partially clogged filter for the full duration.) A friend did this treatment on a high-mileage (220K mls), but meticulously maintained Lexus GX470 V8, and he reports that his mileage has increased by 2 mpg, is quicker, and the engine is quieter and smoother than before.Update: 3 years later. It did reduce by about half the oil consumption on this 3.5L (notorious for oil consumption) engine, but did not eliminate it. I am about to do another treatment, some engine vibration has come back, and based on how black the oil came out the last time (it came out brown on my Camry when treated), I can get more improvement.

Excellent product for a high mileage engine
I honestly did not think this would be effective as everyone has claimed it would be. Used this in a IS350 with high carbon build up and oil consumption.Follow instructions of running it for at least 20mins between 1500-2000 rpms and be prepared to be totally shocked.Oil came out completely black and watery with fine sand like deposits. My oil consumption has gone down considerably almost back to factory spec levels.Do recommend to do it again, probably like a couple oil changes if you are trying to perform a deep clean on a high mileage engine.

This stuff works
Best cleaner brand on the market. Does what it states. Doesnt lie to market themselves. Any store bought cleaner does nothing sept make you think it does. This stuff works. Used on classics, modern cars. Works all the same. Ive uses on countless vehicles. Everyone walks away happy with the results
