Patriot Viper Elite II DDR4 16GB(2 x 8GB) 3200MHz Kit

I was unsure after reading the mixed views on this ram, but it did work.To give a bit of context, the motherboard I use is Gigabyte M450 Aorus Elite, cpu is AMD Ryzen 7 3700x. I originally had 32gb Corsair ram (3000mhz, cl16) but wanted to upgrade. I looked at this Patriot Viper Elite II DDR4 32GB(2 x 16GB) 4000MHz Kit and thought it is a good deal so with a bit hesitation I thought I could give it try.The key to make it work is to change the ram frequency manually in BIOS. With 1.20v I could increase it to 36000mhz. If I increase the voltage to 1.30, I could reach 3800mhz, but then the system became potentially unstable. For example, after restarting on the second day, the computer ran into blue screen. I only later found that the voltage on motherboard was somehow returned to its default 1.20v, and so it wouldn't work with a 4000mhz setup. I decided to keep the default and run it at [email protected], so far no problems at all.The difference in ram speed is noticeable, so, so far so good.I may give an update in future if it runs into any problems.

I had issues with ram before, the was literally just plug in and play after adjusting the speed in the bios. Will definitely be sticking with the brand in future.

Bought these to replace 2400 c14 ddr4 and I was half and half if they would make much difference pairing with Ryzen 3700x … some games I see an extra 20 fps others 10 but a big difference is loading times and the smoothness in games especially forza 4 and 5 … so yes if you can get these when they hit below 80 it’s a worthy buy.

Highest I could get it working was 3800mhz it won’t work with anything higher. And also the XMP profile doesn’t work for highest speeds, and very high timings but for the price is expected and I’m ok with it. In general worth for the price, the only downside is the speed that does not meet the advertisement.

Not much to say, plugged in fine and was working with XMP profile from the get go. Needed some more RAM and this was a bargain to get.

I was worried this ram would not work on my B450m motherboard, as some of the previous reviews were not great. The reality is that most buyers most likely do not bother to check if their particular motherboard will support this ram. Ryzen systems will only support 4000mhz, if you set the infinity fabric at the 2:1 ratio. Most AM4 motherboards only support 1:1 ratio (1:1 with the infinity fabric) up to 3733mhz, then you must step it down. There is only a small loss of performance at 2:1 and this memory was half price, so it's fantastic value for money.

To get them to work with Asus Motherboard D.O.C.P (Profile1) at 3600mhz - I had to put them in the grey slots.

This is great value RAM. I bought the 2 x 32GB 3600MHZ set.I’m running mine in a MSI Z490 motherboard with an intel 10900k CPU. It runs at full speed without issue. The timings aren’t as good as the more expensive RAM sticks at 20-26-26-46, but at this price you cant have it all.I’m really happy with my purchase and would happily buy another set should i need more RAM in the future.
