Finally found something to help my kitty! She had been scratching and "grooming" off her furr till she was kinda bald on her back half. I've tried all kinds of meds and treats for itchy skin that didn't do anything. But these have worked. She isn't scratching and grooming like she was. Her hair is growing back. But they recommend 1/2 pill up to 20 lbs twice a day. When I gave her that much (crushed up in her canned food) she threw up a couple of times. Reduced it to 1/4 pill 3 times a day (sometimes only twice) and it's really helping. So grateful.

The media could not be loaded. My cat’s vet recommended me to buy L-Lysine for my cats when they were kittens. It works well. I don’t recommend feeding it to your cat every day unless directed by a professional.I mix this with my cat’s wet food. They eat it with no problems , so I’m guessing it tastes fine. There is no smell to it. I know it’s helping my cats because they heal up better with this than the prescriptions they receive.I am very thankful for this product because it saves me time and money.This product was packaged well, I had no issues, and shipment came in time. I will purchase more when I need more and will continue to be a loyal customer to this brand and seller.

My kitties were having frequent URIs. Seriously, between the two of them, there was not a month that went by without kitty sneezes, runny eyes, and boogers on my windows and walls. My vet suggested they may have been born with FHV and said sometimes lysine helps reduce the flare ups. Otherwise, there was nothing they could do.She gave me a jar of lysine product they carry, which is some weird mix of chicken and fish flavor and was an odd brown color. It smelled bad and my cats refused to eat their food when I mixed it in.I then tried lysine treats. My cats still wouldn't consume the recommended lysine. I got frustrated that companies keep making things with flavors when they are meant to be mixed in food. My cats may like chicken, or tuna, but not mixed together with the flavor of their food!I finally found this product. No flavor! Just l-lysine powder! Yay! I have been adding this to their food every day and they've had 0 URI flare ups since finding the right dose. They get an occasional sneeze attack and I still need to clean their eyes frequently, but that's expected with any cat. I am happy this contains no other ingredients or dyes, as both my kitties are experiencing early signs of kidney disease and I don't want to make things worse.I feed my cats half of a 3oz can 6 times a day. Each time I feed them, I put a scoop of the powder (1/8th tsp) in the can. So, they get 3x serving gradually throughout the day.This seemed to be the magic number for my cats. When I first started this product, I tried one scoop each and I saw no results (good or bad). I upped to 2x scoops each and they still got flare ups as frequently, but they lasted MUCH less than normal. Finally, I upped to 3x scoops and the flare ups are under control. I can even take them outside for fresh air walks and their little immune system stays strong.I highly recommend this product to any kitty experiencing sniffles, runs, or sneezes too often.

***Two Month Update***Our little girl’s itching is virtually gone, just the normal scratch here and there. Her hair is much softer and even her skin looks the best I’ve ever seen it.When searching for a supplement to help my nine year old Pomeranian who had suddenly started showing signs of allergies or dry skin/hair due to loss of Omega-3’s. I came across NOW Pets Omega-3 supplement and knowing how I value and trust NOW Foods it was a no brainer to purchase this product, especially after reading the product details.Now a little background.Lucy is a nine year old Pom that came to our family as a rescue at about one year old. She joined our other Pom of the same age who was on a diet of Salmon dog food. Everything went great for seven and a half years then two things happened. We had to say goodbye to our little boy due to cancer and my husband decided on a fresh dog food whose only selections were Beef, Chicken or Turkey. Six to seven months later Lucy started itching and biting herself and tore her skin up right proper. We got her healed and she started digging really bad again after a week to two weeks. I ordered Amazon’s liquid Salmon supplement/topper and she refused to touch it or any food it came in contact with. I found that strange since my older Pomeranian’s loved it.Lucy’s itching and digging started up bad angain and I looked for other solutions online and found NOW Pets. Lucy takes pills very well and after I compared prices I decided to purchase on Amazon due to quick and free shipping with Prime.I was shocked by the size of the capsule when it arrived (picture attached shows the capsule next to a AA battery). It’s a horse pill, larger than a lot of human pills I’ve seen and my little Lucy is not even nine pounds. It’s a real chore trying to get her to swallow a pill basically the size of her mouth.I don’t know if I looked over the size written in the description but upon reviewing images before writing this review I did not see any visual representation of the size as other supplements do on their product pages. It appears to be a high quality product that I expect from NOW but I would have ordered something smaller if I had known the capsule size.As far as its effectiveness it is too early to tell other than after two days her itching was cut in half. Her hair is still really stiff and ragged looking, nothing like the fluffy furbaby she’d been for eight years. I expect ber hair to take a while to recover.To compensate for the size of the capsule I’ve started piercing it and allowing the liquid to be mixed in to her food. When the capsule is pierced the smell is overwhelming and a put off for my little girl. Apparently it tastes ok because unlike the Amazon brand the food with the liquid from the capsule was eaten as normal after nosing around the bowl to determine if it was her normal food.I’ll update this post as time progresses with coat changes, shine, softness and shedding.

This is a great deal! Honestly, with all the brands out there, I just purchased this because it was the cheapest. I just wanted to give a sick stray some immunity help. This item actually recommends to be given TWICE A WEEK, not everyday like some others, and the dose is 1/8 of a teaspoon which is 276mg of L-Lysine... That's like just a pinch of salt. (Unless, you have been directed to give a higher dose.) This bottle is also not small. It is like the size of a human vitamin bottle. This bottle will probably last forever and I'm thinking of donating most of it to a cat rescue.I give this to a sick adopted outdoor cat, a healthy stray cat, and to my healthy, but aging, strictly indoor cat ...with no problems. They seem to not notice it at all in either wet food or kibble.
