I got it for my fiance and he loves it! It is easy to use, the bristles are nice to the scalp and they don't hurt at all. He has curly hair and it detangles great! I definitely will buy it again as a gift or recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good brush.-kaizi

Bristles are just tight texture. I have fine hair and they don’t pull.

I’ve ordered Olivia Garden before no complaints. This time Unfortunately, my third use and the little balls at the end of the bristles started coming off when I removed hair from the brush so I can’t imagine what might happen if I use it while blow drying which I have not done yet, so that makes me think it’s not gonna last very long.

I have never been able to use a round brush for styling and get the effect or felt comfortable using. this is an awesome brush that was easy to use, bristles have stayed in tack with heat from blow drier, doesn’t tangle my hair, and had awesome grip. i recommend. 100%

Genuinely a great brush. It is curved to the scalp and feels nice. The only gripe I have is that the parting pin is hollow plastic. Not that it seems low quality, I just think a solid plastic or metal pin would have been better.

This Olivia Garden Essentials brush set includes a good assortment of four brushes for styling, smoothing and detangling. The set has an oval paddle and vented brush with ionic plastic bristles only and also includes a 2-1/4” round brush and a rectangular paddle brush that both have a mix of ionic plastic and faux boar bristles. The faux boar bristles don’t feel quite as soft and smooth as real bristles, but they have a similar feel and are a pretty good substitute for real boar bristles.The brushes all provide a good grip and are super lightweight. They don’t pull on my hair or give me static. Each has a pick stowed in the handle that’s useful for sectioning or parting as I don’t have to grab my comb. The included brush assortment is probably more than I need for myself (can be shared by a household) but all brush types are generally useful for my medium length, fine hair that’s a few inches past my shoulders and has some layering and bangs.The two paddle brushes are more useful than I expected. I had only used round brushes and a wide tooth comb for decades, and that was fine as I washed and blow dried first thing almost every morning and didn’t brush during the day. But now I sometimes restyle my second day hair I’ve blown out the day before or even wash my hair at night, air dry and brush it out and style in the morning. My round brushes and comb weren’t suitable for those situations, while the cushioned paddle brushes are good for detangling and smoothing my hair whether it’s dry or wet.The round brush (labeled 57mm and 2-1/4”) is good in terms of how it grabs my hair, I don’t get static and so on, but the size seems too small for my medium length hair. It’s fine for blowing out my bangs and shorter top layers, but I have to roll the length of my hair too many times and that leads to longer dry times, potential for tangling when unrolling and so on. It’s a good brush but just the wrong size for me. It seems best for shoulder length or shorter hair. I thought the size would be fine as my ideal round brush is 2-1/2” (per my stylist) and this is only 1/4” smaller. The barrel is only about 1-1/4” so maybe that factors in (but I really don’t know).The vented brush isn’t a necessity for me, but it does work well for blowing out my side swept bangs as it dries quickly without static and I can get some lift without getting bubble bangs. However, my 20 year-old-son likes the vented brush and uses it his main daily brush. These aren’t fancy brushes, but they’re practical and good quality. They feel durable and should be long lasting. Olivia Garden brushes have a great reputation and even my hair stylist uses them and says they last for ages despite sterilizing them often. I have brushes from their other lines and they’re holding up well, and these brushes haven’t shed or lost any bristles. This is a good set overall if it has the brushes one needs. Like it. 4 stars.
