3.5-4 starsThis was a pretty good book. I liked Jaxi and Blake and their story was very enjoyable. This is the first book I've read by this author and based on this I'm sure I'll try more of her work in the future.Jaxi grew up wanting one thing, Blake. She and her family moved to town when she was a kid and as she grew up she knew that Blake was the one for her. She tried dating Travis (his younger brother) in an attempt to get past him but it never worked. Jaxi went to many college (and other types) classes to learn what she thought she needed to be the best rancher's wife to Blake. Now she just needs to find a way to get him to see her as something more than a little girl.Blake is the oldest of 6 brothers and has taken on the mantle of the oldest by running the ranch and doing whatever is need to take care of his family. Blake has wanted Jaxi for years but because he's 10 years older than her he thinks it's impossible. Also he has himself convinced that she thinks of him at a brother type.When the story begins, Blake's mother has just had an accident that leaves her with a broken arm. This is going to inhibit her daily work and in an effort to keep her from overtaxing herself, Jaxi is hired to help the family around the ranch to help take up the slack left and to keep Blake's mother from over taxing herself trying to do stuff she shouldn't. Jaxi is 21 now and ready to make her interest known to Blake so when his father asks her to help out she agrees, thinking the proximity will help her cause. Because of his attraction to Jaxi, Blake has been staying away from her rather than take the chance and show his feelings. He's convinced she'd be freaked by his feelings for her and keeps berating himself as if it's a majorly bad thing because of their age difference. With Jaxi staying in the house, Blake does indeed have trouble avoiding her.While looking after things and helping around the ranch, Jaxi starts on her campaign to gain Blake's attention. His brothers mostly know her interest is in Blake but there are a couple that seems to be willing to make a play for Jaxi as well and aren't content to wait around when Blake wont make a move. Blake Keeps trying to push Jaxi away, thinking she's too young and doesn't know her mind. In his pushing her away, he insinuates that she should be with someone her own age but when it comes down to it, Blake can't let her move on with someone else and they finally come together explosively. Once they're together, there are a few doubts to work through but things go pretty well overall. Blake decided to "woo" Jaxi (even though she's already his) and it works well for them, allowing them time to deepen their relationship and the smaller things that come with true intimacy. Things progress and culminate for the couple and the story ends with Jaxi and Blake starting their HEA.I enjoyed this story and liked the characters very much. Blake was cool outside of his initial (rather dumb) resistance to Jaxi. Jaxi was a good female lead, I thought she seemed nice and I liked her determination and the strives she made to make her dream come true. Overall, I liked the story and had no major complaints. I'm sure I'll be reading more of this series in the future. I'd recommend this book. :)* note - I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator did a good job.

I really enjoyed this story! It was a lot of fun and I loved the characters. Blake and Jaxi were great and I loved the whole Coleman family. Jaxi is ready to go after Blake and make her move. She definitely has some work to do since Blake has been trying to avoid it since he thinks he is too old for her. He doesn’t realize how serious her intentions and feelings are for him. I loved how once things went that direction he was determined to also slow things down and woo her. For them to get to know each other as a couple and the adults they were now. This was a great story and I can’t wait for the next Coleman brother to get his story.

I always get a marvelous story reading Ms. Arend"s books! This book was a journey with many twists and turns that gave me a great read! ❤👍

OMG I loved this book. This is about the Coleman brothers, six to be exact, this is about the eldest, Blake and the girl who has loved him since she was just little. They have a bit of an age difference going on but the story is great, I love that you get a bit of the others stories. There is so much laughter in this book. I cant wait to read the next one to find out what brother's story is next. Must read!!

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEAT is a Western romance set in Alberta. It has a sexy hero, Blake, and a strong, awesome, get-what-she-wants heroine, Jaxi.Blake and Jaxi have had a friendship that has been building for years, but Jaxi is determined that she has waited long enough for Blake and now wants him all to herself. This wouldn't be a problem, but Blake has certain issues that he has to overcome that revolve around Jaxi and until he gets over his issues their relationship won't stand a chance. That's all I can say without giving too much away. :).This is a fabulous read, and I will definitely be continuing on with the series. Not only have I fallen in love with the characters in this book, but pretty much every secondary character holds a piece of my heart and I need to read all of their happily ever after stories.
