It's bigger than I thought it would be. It's well made and worth the money. It's also leak proof. You'll look cultured drinking from it.

I been drinking yerba mate for the past 3 years. I started with one too small, then I switched to this one. Quality is good, and you don't burn your hand compares to other ceramic cups or guards. Will definitely recommend for experienced yerba mate drinkers. It can be too big for beginners and will waste yerba mate. Heat retention is not so good to my opinion as my sips get colder often. Don't overfill because yerba will go in-between the steel on top holding the leather to the guard, but overall easy cleaning. Do not hit top steel with spoon to get out stuck yerba because it will leave scuff marks. I had it for 1 year.

I really like the overall look and construction of this mate. It is very pretty and seems well made. As well, it is much bigger than I expected, more like 8.3 oz instead of 7. My only complaint is that the bottom is a bit flat and wide, which causes a bit of liquid to stay in the bottom at the end. In comparison, the Taragüi glass and leather mate which I had before came to more of a point at the bottom and drained more completely. However, I have gone through 2 of the Taragüi mates in the late 8 months. I'm hoping this ceramic mate will be more durable. Another detractor is that the ceramic and the silver don't line up perfectly at the top, which causes mate leaves to get stuck under the rim. Not a big thing.

El mate es precioso. No sólo por su estética, sino por su forma, es ideal, La boca grande permite sebar el mate de modo que no se lave, es decir que la infusión no pierda su sabor. El tamaño es ideal para agarrarlo de forma cómoda. Todo un lujo para los que son tomadores de mate, como yo, o para los principiantes. Super recomendable, super. Hay muchos en el mercado, éste es el mejor, te lo dice una persona que toma mate por más de 50 años.

I am Argentinian and I have always hated the taste of the porongos that rot if you forget them, if you this, if you that. I do not have time to be taking care of a mate. This mate is perfect and it looks beautiful. Love it.

I love the traditional look to this gourd without the fuss of dealing with a natural gourd that can get moldy. I’ve used this gourd quite a bit and banged it around a bunch carrying it it my matera. It seems to be super hardy. You’ll notice from the pic that I roughed it up a bit because I like things that are well-worn . The size is as big as I would ever want for a personal mate but definitely big enough to share with friends. It feels great in your hand. I would not hesitate to buy from this company! I plan on buying the cinta pampa next. Beautiful work thebmate!

I know, some say the true mate cup used to be made with a gourd, but listen, you will have to clean and dry your bowl; otherwise, it will develop mold and an unpleasant odor. Use ceramics.

I wanted to start taking mate to work and I needed one that wasn’t too big and easy to clean. I love this one, the white leather makes it look classy and the ceramic interior lets me clean it out fast. Bonus- love that it’s from Uruguay
