I bought this Himalayan Extra large Salt Lamp to try to reduce the stress in my life. I decided I wanted to put it in my living room since I am in that area the most. WOW as soon as I unpackaged it and got the salt lamp set up I was impressed from the first moment. This is one of the larger salt lamps so it gives off the perfect amount of brightness for a decent sized room. This salt lamp comes with a dimmer switch so you can turn the brightness up and down to your liking. I prefer it bright and its now the center attention piece of the room. You feel a calming sensation while it is on. It is so pretty to just sit and look at. What I really like is that the rock is natural and not man made you can see all the imperfections and beauty of a natural salt rock. This salt lamp has a wooden base that is securely on the bottom of the lamp. I now enjoy sitting in the living room even more. I have showed several people my new salt rock and they have asked where can I order mine. I was VERY nervous after I read all the problem with the dimmer switch malfunctioning so I did watch that VERY careful. I have never had any kind of problem and I leave the salt lamp plugged in for several hours a day. If there was a problem with the switch it has been resolved based off what I have seen from mine. BUT I still suggest watching it till you feel comfortable just in case never can be to careful. From all the salt lamps I have saw this one was my favorite and I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait to order a different one for each room in the house. The salt lamp was very well packaged and came sooner then I expected it would. It comes assembled and ready to go as soon as you get it unpacked. If you are looking for a salt lamp this is the one you want to try, I am so happy with my purchase!

My wife and I are amazed by the beauty of these lights as they are very soothing to look at. Ours looks like a large glowing ember and creates a feeling of warmth about it. But it is how these lights work that blew us away. The claim that these lights can help sinus sufferers seems to have some truth to it. What really clinched it was when we placed one near my wife's father who is 98 years old, has C.O.P.D. and is paralyzed on one side and bed ridden. His normal routine included between 6 or 7 nebulizer treatments a day. After about a week we noticed that he was going longer and longer times between treatments. Currently he needs only 4 treatments a day and none during the night. Nothing else has changed in regards to his care-giving and he was completely unaware of the lamp and it's effects (he could not see it as it was behind him and out of his sight). The people we hire to care-give during the day are equally amazed by his improved breathing. When we finally told him about the lamp he just couldn't believe a light could help him with his breathing. The claim that these lights purify the air also seems based on fact. Since we care-give 24/7 to my wife's father and currently live with him, our house hasn't been lived in for going on 6 years now (except for rare times we can get away over night to sleep there). The house developed a musty smell due to a lack of activity and so I decided to buy a lamp for the house. Within a few days the house had a much fresher smell-no fragrance just a fresh smell, with no funky odors. People who visit us are struck by the beauty of these lights. We have 3 at my father-in-law's residence and one at our home. When we tell them about the added benefit of how these lights can help with breathing problems and eliminate odors they ask me to get them one too! To date I have purchased 29, yes that is right-29 lights for family and friends. I'm sure that Amazon must think that I am crazy for buying so many lights. I'm probably going to order even more since every time I buy these lights, sometimes 4 at a time, they are already spoken for and I have to reorder to fill the new requests. I have read the reviews of those who say they do not work,(in all fairness to the lamps they are not a cure-all but simply help lessen the severity of the symptoms). It appears that the more severe the health problems are, the greater the beneficial results can be.

What a great salt lamp. Now, I will say that these were not just damp but drenched on the outside when they arrived. The silica gel packets were totally overwhelmed with damp, and in one of them the silica packet had burst open, and i had to vacuum silica out of my carpet and off the couch. I was a little worried, but after close inspection it was only the outside that was damp, and the interior was totally dry. There was also a helpful note in the box saying that dampness was normal, and to wash the outside with a damp cloth and plug it in for 24 hours to dry it out. This worked like a charm. I liked that there was full care instructions included in a little manual that came with it, too. I had tried another brand of salt lamp and it did give off a bit of an odor in addition to generally being of lesser quality, with no documentation, even though they did work generally for freshening up the air. I returned those because one was defective and I bought these as a replacement. I'm quite happy with these. I have no complaints other than the initial dampness. Well balanced, beautiful wood base, and the base has padded feet and a cord keeper integrated into it, all of which I find very helpful and functional. They feel very stable. And I LOVE that there is a dimmer switch!! I bought two, and one is dark and one is almost white - they both remind me of rose quartz. The air in my home definitely smells cleaner and fresher.

So I didn’t give this full stars because as soon as it arrived, the light bulb burnt out I had it on for literally one minute and the light went out so I thought that was weird so I took the part where the lightbulb goes out and the lightbulb was black I’m going to try another lightbulb from the store and if it does the same thing, then I will be updating this to one star and getting a new one or my money back but other than that it looks exactly like the photo came within 2 days and I love it but we will see about the lightbulb
