I just purchased a second one after trying the first one out for a few months. I found the handle to be less than useful, but it comes off so I use it sans handle. Works fine. However, on larger pots the piece of metal that the handle hooks into forms a lip that protrudes above the surface and prevents larger pots and pans from sitting level. I took a pair of pliers and bent the little metal pieces of the hook down flat. Works perfect now.

Does the job. Great price too. I like that the handle folds up too.

I had a heat diffuser for years and just wore it out! I'd replaced it with a couple of others, more expensive than this one from HIC Harold Import, but they didn't last. Either the handle wasn't attached well, of the diffuser wasn't put together evenly. This one from HIC I love. This one is perfect! It works great and I can tell I will have it for years. It'll work out to pennies per month by the time I have to replace it LOL. Don't put it in the dishwasher and don't soak it underwater and they DO last for years. These work great, especially on gas stoves. The most common concern is a strong smell at first. Wash it and then put it on the stove with a heavy pot of water and low summer for 30-45 minutes. The new smell goes away. And if it is not holding up (buckling or crinkling) you are likely not using it properly. They aren't meant (as far as I've known using them for over 25 years) to stay on high heat. I learned to first use them for macrobiotic cooking but have seen them used for delicate items like carmelizing, candies, chocolates, and more. It's not for rush cooking. It's great for cooking slowly on the stove because food doesn't burn on low and it cooks soooo evenly. I believe it takes less energy to cook something too. It makes grains come out perfectly! It's perfect for nishimi style veggie cooking (little water/long slow cooking,) overall cooking slowly, and making "crunchy" rice. It's such an easy, fun tool to use! Thanks so much!

Discolors immediately after first use, and has an unpleasant offgasing like you aren't really meant to use it on a stove.... aside from that, my moka pot is still in good shape, so I think it does protect your heat sensitive products on a large stove.

Have a gas stove both at home and propane in camper. It always cooks to high, these are a game changer I have 3 now

Removable handle is a very good function. It is good for placing it under my cast iron dosa tava. It is also good for roasting brinjal etc.

Love this and works amazing for my gas stove. Used it once already and my rice came out perfect. Didn’t stick to the bottom of the pot.
