WARNING way too drinkable!!
this gin lost me my job, which in honesty wasn't something I was overly keen on anyway, so perhaps worth the overindulgence. This gin is highly drinkable. I was mixing it with slimline tonic in a low ball glass but it kept emptying too quickly and that last gin I had tipped me over the edge it seems. when the alarm went off my head said a definite no. and I ended up sleeping it off until 3pm. When I realised that I'd downed half a bottle all became fuzzily clear to me. I've not treated myself to gin since purely because I don't trust myself (good advice not to drink alone with this one!!) The health spa where I worked got the grump from cancelling all my clients that day. But when a hotel gets £60 and a therapist gets £9 I was more motivated to go self-employed, which I have. So I can thank JJ Whitley Violet Gin for helping me to gain clarity that way. Definitely a drink for a party. I'll be buying it again. Eventually.

This cherry gin is just ok at best
Firstly it's a bit disingenuous that Amazon reviews indicate that this gin has scores north of 4.5/5 with over1000 reviews. Those are not for this flavour of gin, most seem to be for JJ Whitley's Parma voilet gin. A quick search among them and I couldn't find one review for this particular cherry flavoured variety. It was however a good price for a premium gin at £15 and the bottle looks premium. The thing about this gin is that it doesn't taste of gin at all. On its own it tastes of a sweetened, slightly cherry flavoured spirit, more like vodka. With tonic it's not unpleasant but only really tastes of sweetness and very slightly of cherry, and is overpowered by a typical tonic. With lemonade it just tastes super sweet. Some may like this but it's just ok imho.

Parma Violet Gin! What's not to like!
Beautiful stuff indeed.Nice looking 70cl bottle of violet coloured/flavoured gin. From JJ Whitley -"A delicate taste of violet rounded off with a subtle sweetness and soft scents of juniper. Created with English garden flower violet, alongside a blend of eight botanicals, including juniper, angelica root, coriander and liquorice"From me - don't use a flavoured tonic with this as all the flavour you need is in the gin. Looks gorgeous in the glass and tastes amazing!Very nice indeed if you're into your gins.

An interesting take on parma violets - subtle and classy!
I'm always worried about flavoured spirits in case they taste too artificial. This one was different. It has that flavour you are looking for but it's not too chemical, overwhelming or sweet. I'd recommend a subtle neutral tonic without lemon to really taste the flavour. It's not my favourite gin but it's very good value.

Not Impressed
Was really looking forward to this as I absolutely love their rhubarb flavoured vodka, but this was very disappointing. Didn't taste anything like cherry and didn't have much flavour either. So I wouldn't buy this again. Also the bottle weirdly looked like it had had a drink poured out of it as the gin only came up to below where the neck started. Weird. It was sealed. Possibly a factory error.
