To get loose curls and waves, you just wrap a section of hair (less than 1 inch) for a few seconds and then remove off. It depends on your hair type to judge how long you keep the hair section wraped around the styler and which heat setting you choose. Generally, it will be shorter for fine hair and longer for coarse hair. And please test from the lower heat setting. To smooth and straighten, just section the hair and brush it.
