Knocks down pm1 pm2.5 out of the air, for smoking room.
I smoke, and with covid I work at home so I wanted to be able to smoke in my office. I installed this filter along with a carbon filter and duct silencer and 6" inline fan. All parts on Amazon. The air flow drop was lower than I was expecting. My pm 2.5 outside the office never gets above 170. Before the pm 2.5 would be 600 or 700 outside the office if the door stayed closed.I confirmed the air coming out the carbon filter is indeed 170. Inside the office the pm 2.5 was off the charts well past the 1000 limit on the meter. Also before woth this being an basement office I was measuring pm 2.5 upstairs. Now it drops off half way up the stairs. This system works 100x better than the honeywell hepa system. After months of smoking daily in my room I am able to see dirt and measure a slight reduction in intake. Still doing well at trapping smoke particles.

Airflow much better than expected
Airflow was surprisingly good. I was expecting more constriction being a HEPA cone, but air output was more than acceptable. Make sure you use an appropriate sized filter and fan rated for your cfm needs. I used a 6” filter and a 420cfm fan and it does a great job for a 5’x10’ space. Use two filters and two fans to equalize intake/exhaust pressure. Fan noise is noticeable on the output side and may need some muffling like a duct silencer if noise is a concern.

Good filter.
Glad I found this. Attaches to one side of my 6" blower, so no need to use a hose. Seems to work. I don't need the filtration I thought I would, so it's hard to say how well it filters, but serves my purpose.

Good air flow and really cleans the air, within a short period of time with a suitable fan.
Really cleans the air. I use it with a 340CFM fan and in a 20x20 foot space, the air is very noticeably cleaner within a few minutes - less sneazing, easier breathing and less. We have cat so this removes any associated odors rapidly.

Be aware, female flange is NOT 6 in as advertised!!
I'm giving it a 2* rating because they have the female flange size listed as 6" and state that a standard 6" duct will fit this filter when in fact it is not that size and will NOT fit into a standard 6" duct. The actual size for the one I received is 6 and 3/8's inches and will not connect with the 6" ducting I have. This is a huge flaw and requires the user to jerry-rig up something to make it work, and that's absolutely not how things should be done. Had I known this prior to receiving the item, I might have been able to come up with a solution. As it is, im currently dealing with an ice-storm in my area and will be for the next several days and cannot just go out and find and buy something so that I can use the filter properly and as intended. This is absolutely ridiculous and frustrating! There aren't a lot of options for these types of filters - this is actually the only one I came across that isn't a charcoal filter with the option to add a less than ideal "dust and mold" filter "bag" (I don't need a charcoal filter for what I'm growing, and so it would be a waste of money and it would be less effective for what I need an intake filter for in the first place). In my opinion, this is, at best, a lazy oversight on the manufacturer's part and/or the company that sells the product. At worst, it is a straight up deceptive business practice that costs the buyer time and money to figure out a work-around for something that shouldn't NEED a work-around.
