Had the nokia lumia 610 for about a month now. must say that i reviewed quite a few touch screen phones before going for the 610,could not of been a better choice. the screen interface is simple, but eye catching, the screen is very responsive and quick to respond. internet browser also seems to operate at a good speed and battery life if your an average user (few phone calls, bit of internet, couple of games and texts) lasts you about 3 days (with battery saver on) pretty good!call quality is very good and the querty keyboard for texting is very responsive (even if you have fingers like sausages!) and has a nice feature of suggesting words your typing above the keyboard for speed, so if it pops up you just hit the word and it leaves a space after for the next word(good idea!) for the price i think its a fabulous buy if your looking for an alternative to the i phone crowd. bought a few gel skins to protect it Nokia Lumia 610 Solid Black TPU Gel Skin Case / Cover + 2-in-1 Screen Protector Pack Part Of The Qubits Accessories Range come in different colours, so you can match your live tiles to them whatever your mood! comes out the box with a data cable, headphones (and Charger)download the zune software to sync all your music, videos and pictures to your phone. much easier than pc suite. little tip... make sure your data connection is on. otherwise you won,t be able to send picture messages or texts to groups of contacts.(took me a while to find this out!)also like most phones these days, dosen,t come with a instruction manuel(just a basic start up guide) you can download one in pdf if you search it via your search engine. think you will be hard pressed to find a better quality build phone with the excellent features installed at this price. nokia have really pulled out the stops with the 610!NOTE!.....Cliffs review stated that he didn,t know how to make your own music as ringtones WELL! when you see your music sample on zune right click on the track you want as a ring tone go into edit. click on genre, change to ringtone, click ok, then drag from list onto phone icon in bottom left hand corner. sould go onto phone list ringtones!(as long as its less than 40 seconds long and less than 1MB & MP3 or WMA format) worked for me. hope this helps cliff and all!!

I have an older Android phone which needed to be replaced. As there is a couple of weeks before the launch of the new Samsung and Apple devices, I heard and read that the Windows devices were something to also consider. I decided on this "cheaper" phone as it will help me to decide what interface would suit me better in the longer run (I would still be buying a more expensive phone later). So I bought the Nokia Lumia 610 phone. The must give it to Nokia the phone is quite solidly built and responds well with the Windows interface and there is no time delay. Most phones have shortcut buttons on the exterior to silence the phone or place the phone on vibrate etc. The Lumia has 3 buttons on the exterior, none of which silence the phone quickly from what I have found. So out of frustration I read the booklet to find out about the 3 buttons on the exterior. The booklet (supplied with the device) was condensed and easy to read but no where could I find anything referring to the 3 buttons on the exterior. The booklet was basic and only described how to text a message etc. Ohh there is a Windows video you can watch but it is also basic. The Windows interface menu consists of larger icons when first waking up the phone and then you have the option for scrolling to a more in-depth menu. When you select a particular selection on the menu eg settings i.e to change the volume on a ring tone you find that there are not many options or settings to change. It's only when someone rings you, that during that short period of time that you can change the settings..... This for me is purely frustrating. There are other areas that make this a frustrating experience for me and yes this is partly because this phone has a new interface for me and also because the Microsoft interface is badly written. I do find the Android interface on my older phone easier to use and I didn't need a booklet to read and I didn't feel frustrated while using the phone. From these earlier experiences I certainly would not even consider buying another Windows phone even if they thought Windows 8 is better I definitely would stick with Android or Apple as a interface, pity Nokia didn't either.
