Super easy assembly
I was a little hesitant to purchase this just because so many people had said that it doesn't stay and slips in the shower, and the price of it. Super easy assembly. put it in my shower and put it to the test. I can see why people say it slips because it CAN! I found that if my foot isn't centered on the rest it slips more easily. I am conscious to make sure my foot is directly in the middle and I have had no issues with it falling. its great if you have a stand up shower with no tub ledges to rest your foot on! I am glad I made this purchase!

Three weeks later...
1 MONTH after purchase: The good: It's one of the better options available. It's not a stick on suction cup - those never hold. It's not a permanent mount - those put holes in and ruin tile. It's not a bench/stool - those are sometimes expensive and often to big for a standard standup shower. That leaves this doohickey, I had such high hopes. The bad:- Not Stable: You have to be very aware of where you place your foot and weight and it's hard to reposition your weight without it falling. It took a few days to figure out the right position and to get comfortable with using it. I stopped knocking it over, but I'm always a little nervous that it'll go flying. If you are concerned about your balance or falling in the shower, this may not be a good product for you.- It's Ugly: I like my bathroom and I carefully choose every detail of it. I don't want cheap plastic and pastels in my beautiful shower. It's not exactly a current design trend. Why do manufacturers think we want "girly pastels", I'm not 7years old.- The footrest slides down - It worked for three weeks and now the footrest won't stay up. There is a silicone(?) band around the support pole that the footrest sits on, it's now loose enough that it slides down after a moment of use. Unless I can find a way to keep the footrest up, this product will go in the trash.UPDATE, 2 months after purchase: I glued the little silicone sleeve in place. The silicone sleeve is around the support pole and the footrest sits on it, it's purpose is to keep the footrest from sliding down. Now that it's glued in place, the footrest no longer slides down, the product is now usable. I glued it 3 weeks ago and it's still holding up. Other notes: the indent on the footrest works well for holding a razor, it does not work well for holding shave gel (the shave gel fits but it was always in the way of my toes)UPDATE, 6 months after purchase: It's now in the garbage. The little rubber/silicone foot at the bottom split, it now exposes the sharp metal edge to my tile floor. I won't risk damage to my floor so I've finally thrown this away. I really wanted it to work, I liked the size and the concept, but this product needs some improvements.

This is the 1.0 version. Needs a 2.0 design upgrade to make it better
I had high hopes for this gizmo because I don't have a lot of room in my shower for a shower chair or stool. Shaving your legs in the shower is difficult when you have to wear your glasses to see what your doing, and then have to deal with fog and water obscuring your view, not to mention no room and no where to prop your leg up (no tub, just a stall) to see better and to keep the soap/cream from washing off before you get a chance to use the razor. Which is why I bought this... and with a little more tweaking of the design, they would have a superior product. However, the current design allows the rod to slide out from under your foot while you are shaving so you end up face planting in the wall of the shower. To correct this design flaw and stabilize the rod, a little hot glue built up on either end of the rod helps to keep it from sliding out. Otherwise... the deck is plenty big enough to accommodate a foot, a razor, and soap or cream, and the rod is quite sturdy.

Beware if you're shower is curved
This is a good idea in theory, but the execution is a little lacking. I could see it being much better if my shower walls/floor weren't curved (so beware if yours are). Either way, like some other reviewers, the silicone ring that was supposed to hold up the shelf slipped down after about 5 uses and would not stay up when fixed. I glued it down and imagine it will stay now, but that was annoying and now the height isn't adjustable.Additionally, I have a heck of a time keeping the thing upright in my shower. It either just falls over, or shoots out from under me when I'm using it. The top and bottom grippers just can't hack it when there is any weight on it (or even when I am just putting it away) it's very unstable. The included sticky pads helped, but they are far from a total fix. I am working on other ways to get it to stay up, but it's finicky.I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it really. Especially for those of us with curved molded plastic showers. I wish I had sprung for a little teak stool, but now that I have this I'll try to make it work. At least it is nice quality materials and packaging.UPDATE: I'm returning this. Even the cement wouldn't keep the ledge in place. Additionally, I bought extreme outdoor velcro to try to hold it in place, but the velcro would not stick (even when cemented and allowed to dry 24 hours).

Sometimes tips over if you don't have perfectly smooth tiles, but still worth it!
Overall I like this. I have a compact shower and this doesn't take much space. This gives me what I really needed for making shaving my legs easier. I have severe arthritis, so it's hard to shave without doing the flamingo in the shower. This gives me the slight stability I need. I dinged it 1 star, because no matter how I position it, it doesn't quite grab my tile walls well, and if I'm ever so slightly leaning my foot one way or another, the Sidekick starts to slide. I have slightly textured tiles, so I imagine if I had a smoother surface the silicone edges would grab better. It just took some getting used to. The first time I used it, I knocked it over 10 or more times, but now I rarely knock it over anymore. Just have patience and you can figure it out.

I would highly recommend this product
I would highly recommend this product. I recently moved in there was nowhere in the shower for me to put my foot to easily shave and it made it extremely difficult. I bought items that stuck to the wall but they kept falling down. This is sturdy and works really well
