Champions Again!: The Story of Liverpool's 30-Year Wait for the Title [US Edition]

Honestly, I know nothing about football and have little to no understanding of major 'Team' sports; cricket, rugby etc. So, trying to know what to get my friends, associates and acquittances for Christmas has always ended up with the usual dash towards the 'personal hygiene' section of store - I'm one of the many people who has helped erect that LYNX (AXE) wall of smells in January.This year, I thought I'd try something different and knowing that some of my friends are Liverpool fans, I decided to take a punt and buy a book on 'football'. Something that was of the moment, of 2020 and its bizarre shocks and privations. Anyway, adults being adults, the presents have been opened well in advance of Christmas and the feedback has basically meant that all future receivers of Christmas presents will have to darn their own socks as well as 'go commando' - I shan't be buying them as presents moving forward.Having read the book myself (I purchased a copy to see what the fuss was about), I found it to be well pitched (excuse the pun), able to convey the gravity, pathos and overall experience of 30 years' striving for win. The personalised nature of book enabled me gain some purchase on a subject matter that I have little to know understanding of or interest in. This is an excellent, well written and erudite appraisal of one teams goal(s) to succeed. It's a must buy.

30 long years of hurt written by a fan whose emotion runs right through the book. Highly reccomended.
