Add these for stability…makes it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ backpack!
We love this backpack. Both my husband & I have one. It’s excellent for both domestic and international travel. We did have one glitch where the plastic piece that holds the backpack strap broke. So we found a workaround by adding these clips. I wanted to share in case it helps someone else.https://a.co/d/f5yqb1O

Almost perfect, no regrets
I love everything about this bag other than the strap connectors. Because they are removable, there's a small piece of metal to close the clip to hook the strap. The metal piece on one strap continues to pop out of the plastic, leading me to need to constantly reattach it and almost losing it.I would also prefer if it had a cross-strap at the chest or waist for added comfort, but it was fine without. Lack of a detachable strap for carrying it without the backpack straps is also something to note when using as a suitcase replacement.Even with these minor criticisms, I still give it 5 stars. The capacity, pockets, and full zipper allowed me to travel for ten days by air and rail with this single bag and a purse.

Very versatile as a backpack or carry on bag.
Great quality, lots of storage.

Almost perfect!
I was able to fit a 16in MacBook Pro, a medium Wacom tablet, and an iPad Pro in the laptop sleeve. Granted they were a lil too snug, but pretty great, as I need all those things when I travel for work. I loved the other compartments, definitely easier to pack and see what you have inside. A great carryon or personal item for my flight.A few things I didn’t love: the thing that adjusts the shoulder strap rubs my arm. Not a problem in the winter, but wearing this in the summer for a significant length of time is likely to result in blisters. I also wished it had a chest strap (and even a waist strap) as my tech stuff can get pretty heavy. I also don’t love the colors. Wished there was a version that was all camel or just an elegant black or a nice dark green or sophisticated gray, but that’s a personal preference. A small pet peeve that most backpacks have is black lining: why??? It makes it so much harder to see inside. A lighter color lining will make things easier to find in there. I’ve gotten into the habit of always having a rechargeable, motion sensor light in my bags to compensate, but wish I didn’t have to.All that said, it does make travel easier for me, it does a good job for the price and I would buy it again.

Sturdy, Lightweight, and compact bag.
This bag is very good quality and has left me pleased after a couple of trips with it. Fits 4-5 days of clothes, my 17” laptop, a blanket, and most other electronics I need. Does it all while being easy to carry with the backpack straps and side handle, and holds up well. For the cost I am very pleased. Always loved Swiss Gear and was not disappointed in my latest purchase from them.

Versatile
I purchased my first one about six years ago from a department store. I have packed this bag every weekend going to the lake, it’s been to Florida three times, Mexico, once, and two cruises. I finally just broke the back zipper and decided to buy a second one. The front has a hard case cover for sunglasses or reading glasses, etc. It has multiple zippers on the outside small compartments and it has a laptop padded on the back. You can keep the backpack straps inside the zipper compartment and carry it like a regular bag or you can take them out and use it as a backpack. The inside has a mesh zipper screen to keep clothes, safe and secure from not moving around on one side and the other side has a pouch for other items and it has two straps that are adjustable to secure more clothes. If you don’t have a large amount of clothing, you can zip the outer zipper to compress the bag and if you have more, you can unzip it to expand it. This is my go to bag for everything.

Review for the 22" bag: significantly different than what is pictured
There is a reason the detail page for the 22" version says it is returned often.I bought the 18" and 22" versions of this bag to try. The 22" bag is only passingly similar to the small bag and it is extremely uncomfortable (I'm a 5'5" woman, average build). I put in the exact same things as I did in the 18" bag, and the 22" bag felt significantly heavier and was 100% more uncomfortable on my back. It felt like a plank against my back. Plus the back panel isn't contoured and doesn't have the breathability that the 18" bag does. The straps also pulled away from the top-back of my shoulders, which obviously isn't great. For someone with a taller/larger build, perhaps this would work. The difference of ~8 liters of space is significant, which was expected, but there is no way I'd want to carry this bag at capacity. I have a backpack with a larger liter capacity and this 22" bag isn't anywhere near as comfortable to put on, even with a partial pack. This bag has compression straps inside, plus there is a compression zipper along the outside, but the pocket situation is very different from the 18". I feel a laptop would be better protected in the 18", because that appears to have better padding. In contrast, the 18" feels like a dream on my back, from the contouring, padding, and overall fit.

They thought of everything when designing this bag!
My husband already had this item in red and loved it, so I was aware of all its many features in advance. It's so handy for a night or 2 away if your outing is informal and you all you need is a couple changes of undies and light clothing, but there's also room for toiletries, laptop (special padded side-zip pocket makes it easy to retrieve). It's just an all-around wonderfully designed bag. Well thought out. Even has a little RFID pocket where you can securely store your wallet and credit cards another nice feature is a small zip pocket right at the top that can accommodate sunglasses, keys, or whatever you might need quick access to.I bought a new laptop this fall and didn't want to use my large Targus backpack/bookbag that accommodates my older 17" laptop. The SwissGear bag easily accommodates and projects my new smaller HP laptop while providing plenty of compartments and room for items I'd like to store separately.I bought it in green because it was by far the cheapest choice at the time, but it's a beautiful emerald shade of green Couldn't love this bag more!
