So easy to replace and works!
As an independent female I love being able to fix my car, I had my latch in my 2016 mazda XX-5 bust so after popping the plastic off the lid I pushed the spring out with a Bobby pin, remember how the spring goes! And the latch, it popped right back in. It took me about 5 minutes, there is a video on YouTube that is a minute and a half of a guy showing how to replace it, easy and to the point!

AMAZON SAVES THE DAY! Cheap and Easy DIY Car Part Fix
Perfect fit for my 2016 Mazda CX-5 Sport. I was so upset when the tiny plastic bit broke off my console latch. I read this latch is one of the most common broken parts for my make/model... which I’m okay with because it’s probably the cheapest to replace and relatively easy to do yourself! It took maybe 10 minutes to install after watching a YouTube video. The trickiest part was getting the pin out the old one and into the new one, but it CAN be done. I can’t imagine how much it would cost to have the dealership fix this (and how much time and gas I would have wasted)!

Easy to install, perfect OEM fit for CX5 center console
Center Console won't close? Get this and dont be afraid to install it yourself.Fit perfect on 2016 CX5I found this part after researching why my console wouldnt close, and it worked great on my 2016 CX5. I was able to follow a YouTube video to install it. The only tool I needed was a flathead screwdriver, it was a super easy install and took me roughly 10 minutes to install (I was working slow). I would definitely recommend this if your center console won't close. Don't be afraid to install it yourself, I'm not that handy, but I was able to do it.

Thank You Replacement Latch Makers
After my latch broke I was to the point of using a bungee cord to keep my console top from popping up. Thankfully, someone was smart enough to reproduce these replacement latches. You just pop the bottom out of the console top, carefully slide the pin out (don't let the spring get away from you), pop the new pin in (aligning and including the spring as you do so), put the pin in, pop the bottom back into the console top, and where your once broken latch failed previously, your new latch catches perfectly.Very thankful for this easy-to-implement option and latch replacement part.

Perfect Fit
After watching a video on how to install this part, it was installed and working in a matter of minutes. I was absolutely excited when I got it in and even more excited that it fit well and wasn't actually too difficult to install. I was worried that I bought the wrong model, but it worked. I definitely recommend this item if you have a 2016 Mazda CX5 as I do.

Perfect for 2016 Mazda CX-5
Rode around for months with a broken latch (common problems in Mazda's apparently). This worked perfect, and things are back in shape. Super easy to install after watching a couple youtube videos. Save yourself whatever the dealer might charge, it's about a 3 minute "repair".

Exact replacement, easy swap, no issues
Exactly what I needed to replace the broken latch for the console on my 2016 Mazda CX-5. Reading online and reviews, it appears this has been a common part to replace on a relatively new vehicle. I watched a quick Youtube video and replaced it in a couple minutes. I used a putty knife in the seams to release the top and bottom parts of the console "hood". Once they're separated, you can see there is just a pin on the inside that you can push to one side to release the spring and old latch. Just remember the position of the spring, and you can pop the new latch in place and move the pin back into position. The top and bottom part of the "hood" will snap back in place when pressed together again. Simple as that. Saved me time off work to take the car into the shop and wait for a part to be ordered. Glad just the latch could be replaced and didn't require a replacement of the entire top piece!

Works great. Dealer might give you the part for free.
This works perfectly. I had it changed out in a few minutes. However, the same failure happened to my friends car and a Mazda dealer gave him the parts for free. They said it was a known common failure and if he had an hour they would fix it for him. Since it's an easy 5 minute fix, he gladly too the replacement and did it himself.
