Charcoal Companion Porcelain-Coated Grilling Grid - CC3079 20% of the surface was chipped and rusty when it arrived. This piece was probably getting banged around in the warehouse. Also, someone applied some kind of liquid soap to it and never rinsed it off. It's weird and disgusting at the same time. It's too much trouble to send back so I'll wash it and season it with flaxseed oil and bake it for an hour. Same process as cast iron or high carbon steel.

When I bought this, I thought it was the same as the cast-iron pan my mom uses on the grill, so this was a really pleasant surprise. It works just as well for grilling veggies – or anything, I just use it for vegetables – but it’s much lighter than cast-iron and it cleans up really easily. Also haven’t had any trouble with rusting! A great, versatile option to use with our grill. (The food cooks very nicely on it as well, I don’t see any real difference between this and the heavier one I was using my mother’s in terms of results.)

I LOVE grilled vegies and fruits, but I'm not always so great at cleaning our grill after each use. And I don't want to put the food on a not-so-clean surface. So this is just what I needed! Nice handles for picking up and carrying in to the house. And of course it keeps the smaller pieces from falling thru the grates on the grill. I've even used it with burgers and steaks ... much easier to clean than the grill itself!

I bought this to go on my small grill. As I am an empty nester, I don't use my large grill any more. This was purchased so that I could safely put items such as shish kabobs on the grill without losing pieces through the grill's rack. It works well; however, the first use entailed the use of marinade, which grilled up to a nice hard black coating, which required a lot of soaking and scrubbing. I was afraid I'd hurt the porcelain coating, but it held up like a champ! This is a good size for a small grill overall, and good for a large one to put on the side for smaller items. You could grill scallops using this and not have to worry about losing them. Also chicken strips sometimes tend to shrink and fall through a normal grill rack. Using this you don't have to worry about that. I'd buy this again, and might buy one for my brother in law, who has a huge gas grill. We used this on his grill at the lake and it did a great job! Just soak in hot soapy water after using, and it will come clean. A little ammonia added to the water will hasten the process.

This was a big disappointment. It seemed like a great deal when I ordered it, but it turned out the only thing going for it is that it is inexpensive. The "porcelain coating" was already peeling off when we took it out of the box. Don't waste your time on this -- the quality is poor.

This grilling grid is great. I use it in my smoker when I smoke a ham, meatloaf or make homemade bacon. The holes lets the grease and oils drain away from the meat and provides access for the smoke to reach every part of the meat. This grid is strong and provides good support when carrying the meat back and forth from the smoker. The porcelain coating makes this grid very easy to clean. We have also used this for making cookies, toast bread and pizza in the oven. This grid works great for grilling veggies or fish on the barbecue. I highly recommend this grid for easy grilling, smoking, baking and clean up after its use.

I received a similar one of these last year and I use it to make digiorno pizzas mostly in the conventional oven and it gives the pizza a great bake. I have also used this one to make a pizza or 2 in my smoker. I bought 2 and gave them to my parents and sister because pizza stones don't work nearly as well.

I am very satisfied with this purchase. I was looking for a porcelain coated basket with sides. The only thing I would mention is that it appears to be one that maybe didn't quite meet the standards of the factory and a reseller got a hold of the batch. The reason I say that is the all the sides are perfectly bent except one side. It kinda looks like it was hit with a hammer a couple of times before the coating was applied.. This is cosmetic only and doesn't look like it will affect the longevity of the coating. I am still pleased with my find!

Overall the grid 33 cm long (13 in) and may not fit into a mini oven. 27.8 cm is the inside dimension. Amazon just copied what is on the wrapper. I put 2 stars because of this misleading information. I have returned it.
