Good guide for the area for which it's intended
Nicely organized by color. You should be able to find common local flowers fairly easily with this system. I bought as a gift, so haven't used it, but own several field guides, and this one seems good. Attractive format and good photos which show detail you need for id (not always so with wildflower book photos). Remember to relax with the flower you wish to identify, take the time to notice details and read the description carefully. You'll love it when you meet a new friend. Also it's very helpful to learn some of the common plant families. You'll be more than half way to an identification when you can guess what group it belongs to.

Great reference book
I recently published Yosemite in Bloom, as part of my coloring book collection, and I used this book for reference for my drawings. It's a very good book with good photos.

Great Guide
organized by color so the novice has an easier time finding out what they are viewing. Nice photos rather than drawings makes recognition easier. The size of the book is a bit large (that's why 4 stars)
