Great soldering iron
I had to reorder this item as the tip literally crumbled within a few minutes of initial use. Manufacturers defect. The replacement came within a day or 2 and so far has been ok.Quick and easy to fill and use. Ideal for many applications including automotive repairs and for DJs building or repairing cables etc

Great Soldering Iron, Poor for Torch Applications
Unlike the WP3EU which comes in a nice professional modern and sturdy case the WLBU75 doesn’t.It came in a plastic cheap disposable packaging which I had to shear in bits with a knife to get into soon realising afterwards that the manufacturers instructions made up the packaging so referring to the manual now in three separate pieces, not a good start.Eagerly anticipated as it’s in the upper end of the butane soldering iron market, in fact the most expensive one I have bought. the WP3EU still remains my favourite and lasted me approximately a year, longer than DREMEL (which didn’t stand the rest of time barely 6months). I am an electrician by trade and use the soldering iron and the torch daily, from PCB alterations to Heat Shrinking. I require reliable and quality products to deliver a reliable and quality service.PRO’s- small and compact,- feels like a quality tool,- good ergonomics,- a nice safety cap which fits well,- Aesthetically… I think it looks good too,- Soldering Tip heats up quick,- Gas flow is consistent and not sporadic,- Easy to Clean.CONS- The manufacturers settings say the torch is blown out of the gas valve is open too far so keep gas valve operation between low and medium, this is an overstatement, between lowest and low setting is more accurate concluding a very small blue flame at best.- Torch is easily blown out through movement on any gas valve setting.- Ignition success is approximately 1:30 with 30being the amount of clicks you need to do for a successful alight.- After a week of use I have still yet to discover a way to correctly identify the ‘fuel gauge’ levels.- No where to store easily the only accessory this comes with being the soldering tip, removable when requiring torch application, I have been using the safety cap and letting the soldering tip jingle inside or screw it back on after use.Overall…. 7/10 (and that’s being generous, just because on the whole Weller still produce better soldering irons than anyone else in my experience)A Great Soldering Iron, but room for improvement and a complete revamp of the torch facility. Like the WP3EU the fully open gas valve needs to support the torch and I think the ignition should be better placed or made more powerful.
