Love this bed!
My 14-month-old started crawling out of his crib, so I decided to try this bed. I am glad I did!The bed is low to the ground and my son can easily get in and out in a safe manner. Fits our standard crib mattress. Husband was at work, so I put it together myself. It took me 47 minutes from start to finish. Directions were to the point and easy to follow. You may want to use another allen wrench, as the one they provide is a bit flimsy. My son loves the little shelf at the end. He puts his books there and seems to think he is quite the grown-up! The bed seems super safe and he has not rolled out of bed.The design is simple and sturdy.I would recommend this bed to others, especially those with younger toddlers!

so easy for your toddler to get in and out
The design of this bed is very cute, looks exactly as the picture and it's low to the ground, so easy for your toddler to get in and out. The downside is the quality of the material. It's made of particle board, so it breaks and chips very easily. Even before finish the assembling it had already chipped corners. I would be happier with it if it was cheaper to reflect the fact that is particle board.

I love it, but make sure to pad the edges
My 3 year old has been using this bed for over a year now and both of us really love it. It's low to the ground, withstood a jumpy toddler and has a really clean, low-profile look. Like other reviewers said the picture doesn't do it justice.Size-wise it's a toddler bed so not much room for mom/dad to lie down and read stories; but, we've been able to sit/squeeze next to him on nights when he's had bad dreams and the bed has held up great. I honestly can't say the same about many other flimsy toddler beds. In fact after checking out the ones at the big stores I promptly came back to Amazon and got this one -- it seems worlds better. The bed was easy to assemble. It's been awhile so I can't remember if any tools were needed but I can tell you that I am the most un-handy person I know and I was able to set it up myself.Sounds great, but here is the big BUT (and the reason I took out a star):If you have a toddler who tosses and turns and wiggles a lot at night then make sure you pad the sides. In fact pad everything: the headboard, sides and footboard. After using it that first night I woke up to see my poor little guy with a bloody nose from hitting the headboard. I was so upset!! If I could have disassembled it that instant and ship it back I would have. During his sleep he would sometimes sit up then lie back down again. Since all four sides are pretty low it was easy for him to smack his head when laying back.Stupidly enough I just padded the headboard and sides for the second night and wouldn't you know it, he sat up, turned around and banged his head on the FOOTBOARD. So for a few months I padded all the sides. Now that he's used to the bed we have had it pad free and it works beautifully. I'm not sure that all toddlers sleep as roughly as mine; but I think this is a design flaw that could be addressed by raising those sides. However, since it's easily enough fixed by padding with comforters and the bed is working beautifully now I would still recommend it.It's sturdy, attractive, and my 3 year old loves sleeping in it.---UPDATE 11/25/2015: The bed has held up very well over the years and is now used by my second child. I've since discovered that an edge protector like the Prince Lionheart Table Edge Guard works pretty well to pad the edges; HOWEVER it may damage the veneer especially if you try to pull it off (as your toddler may try to do). My second child is also a much calmer sleeper and does not wrestle the bed in her sleep.

While we really like the look and function of this bed for our ...
While we really like the look and function of this bed for our toddler, it has been awful because our son gets his arms and legs stuck in the openings of the side slats. He used to sleep with a variety of stuffed animals that blocked the slats, but now he prefers them out of the bed resulting in getting his arms and feet stuck multiple times a night sometimes. This bed is perfect otherwise!

parts missing and very confused replacement.
I had a lot of trouble with this bed. I received a wrong part that would not align so the girl promised me she would ship the replacement the next day. Never came. Two days later I got the wrong part in the mail. I knew there was not much time left so I drilled holes in the first part to get it together. The next day I got two more of the wrong parts. It did come together and looks nice but it was a real pain and the customer service obviously was not helpful at all

RE: THE BEST Toddler Bed - safe, easy and stylish
We use this as a dog bed for our basset hound - he was delirious when he got into the spot and we cannot be happier with it. We have had this since 2013 and are considering buying him another one because he has taken to sleeping upstairs these days. Perfect for baby and dog! Great design -- we use the spot at the foot of the bed for water and snacks ... yes he snacks - he is a basset hound and is food motivated. Having the sheets changed often is not an issue and it is just wonderful to see the "aah" in his body as he sinks into his freshly made bed. Would have used it for my kid if he slept anywhere other than in my arms:)). Sturdy, stylish and safe. We love it! assembly was easy until we goofed at a certain point but a little thinking got us done in no time.

Great toddler bed
We've had this for a year and it's holding up very well. The bed is very low which is a good thing, especially if your child tosses and turns a lot. I love the fact that he can climb up and just get out of bed by himself with no trouble at all. He was still sleeping in his pack and play (we never got him a crib) but the bed was set up for him to be exposed to it. For 1 week, we played quiet games and read a lot of books on his new bed so he can associate good feelings and memories before letting him sleep there. It was really fun for my boy to climb up the bench into the bed but I thought he might hurt himself if he got off-balanced, so we filled the entire bench with books. Now, when I check in on him in the morning, I find him with a book in bed.The transition was wonderful and he never had any trouble sleeping on it. He's very happy to have his own bed like a big boy. We're glad we chose this bed for our toddler.
