This compass is a bargain! It's a great size, and lightweight. It's both precise and accurate. I appreciate that it floats. The mirror is clear and can be used for signaling. For ~$20, you can't go wrong. Do not be put off by some of the negative reviews. I hesitated buying this one, but trusted my gut knowing this is from Suunto. I do not think it's fragile as some reviews have suggested. It'll hold up just fine being shoved in a pack, or taking falls on a trail. Though I'm sure if you smash it with some rocks you can break it. The mirror is also not cloudy as some have reported; you need to remove the film protecting it. If you want other features, or "higher quality" materials (which will weigh more too), then you're looking at something in a higher price point.

Simple Good and not Too expensive. Bought a 2nd one for a friend. For those not familiar, the ability to adjust for declination is quite important in the Northeast where I live, 14° here in VT, up to 20° in Northeast Maine. I use mine at least once a week bushwhacking through the woods of VT/NH.
