Book appears brand new and in great condition
Have no complaints about anything. Book appears to be brand new, never been used. Everything was great, book arrived quickly and with no problems. Would order books from this place again, if they had something that I was wanting to buy. Haven't started to read book, but am happy with the transaction to date.

A Look Into a Marine Special Op's Unit
I was an ANGLICO Marine in the late 1950s and this was a neat update on the equipment. The Marine attitude never changes, thank God! If you want to see the attitude of a bastard Marine company you'll enjoy this book

Good story teller
Good story teller, but too short a book. I could have read about a lot more Anglico craziness. Write an expanded version. I retract this whole review as to being too short, dummy I am, I managed to skip over 2/3rds of the book. As to Messamore being a good wordsmith or story teller, I stand by that completely! The Corps should have made you a staff nco or Gunner (warrant status)

Disappointment
"Inside the Rowdy World and Risky Missions of the Marines' Elite ANGLICOs" is one of the most misleading titles I've ever read. The book doesn't touch on a single risky mission, and doesn't mention any of the other ANGLICOs. If you buy this book expecting stories of combat and real-world ANGLICO exploits during war-time, prepare to be sorely disappointed. Instead, the book dwells entirely on the pre-9/11 training exercises of a reserve unit, that are neither interesting nor especially entertaining (the author devotes an entire chapter to talking about Motor Transport AKA military truck drivers). This book reads like your old uncle telling stories about the "good old days" in the peace-time military that he thinks are super cool, but that everyone else in the family is sick of hearing about. If you want to read a reservist's exaggerated and self-congratulatory memoirs about his training experiences in the late 90's, buy this book. If you want to read about "risky missions" or even just actual deployments, look elsewhere.

Disappointing and repetitive.
I was hoping the author would provide examples of ANGLICO's missions during a combat deployments, and especially in the GWOT.Instead, the accounts given are of peace-time exercises and training missions that are over 20 years old. The book makes several mentions of exercises in Norway, Ft. Drum and Ft. Polk, but there's not any actual missions against an armed enemy. It does a good job of defining the role of an ANGLICO, devoting many chapters for each special skill. That is something that could have been accomplished in a pamphlet, not a 400 page book. So unless you want to hear about the author's love of Norwegian Pilsner, and his hatred of heavy batteries, this book is about 300 pages too long.
