ROXX Led Tail Lights Assembly for 1999-2004 Volkswagen Golf MK4, Taillights for 1999-2004 Volkswagen GTI, Smoke Rear Lights Replacement with Turn signals/Brake Lamps, Driver & Passenger Side

When I opened the box, the tail lights were dark and impressive to look at. Looked easy enough to install. Once I unscrewed the three bolts that held the left tail light, I took out the new blacked out tail light and saw the sticky foam needed to be pressed on and realigned. Once I got the tail light placed into the appropriate spot I screwed the 3 nuts to the bolts. 2 of the 3 nuts tightened with ease and stopped when it was fully tightened. The last nut was getting tighter and then the plastic holding the bolt snapped. I had to use a larger screw and washer to secure the tail light. The same thing happened again with right tail light. So the plastic on the inside of the light isn't very sturdy. So I suggest hand tighten the nuts to the bolts and then maybe give a quarter turn with the ratchet. The wire connection was easy to disconnect and connect. I was surprised that the reverse light was still a light bulb and not a LED light which was a bit disappointing. To sum it up I give it 3 Stars, deduction for the internal plastic material and bolt breaking from the plastic, and the reverse light not being a LED. The blacked out tail lights after install looks great though.

The lights are great they glow great and look amazing. Only problem i have with them is the driver side is perfect nothing wrong with it. Passenger side not so much. It fits into the car great but the plug is backwards. The turn signal, brake light, and running light are perfect but the pin for the reverse lifht is not in the right place. Its on the complete wrong side of the plug and is going to require me to attempt to de pin the plug and move the pin to the opposite side of the plug. Im very happy with the look of these lights but disappointed with build quality.

One works and one doesn’t and they wouldn’t send me a new one place is a joke

First off, these look great, now that they're working normally. However, in order to get them to function normally, you MUST install a resistor on the brake light circuit, and repin the connector on one side for the reverse light. If you don't add a resistor, the tail lights backfeed the brake lights, and you won't have brake lights, when the tail lights are on. You'll also lose cruise control functionality. I only installed a resistor on one side, since the brake light circuit is all linked to one power source, and it functions as it should. Another note: they block Radio reception, pretty severely. But they look cool...

Passenger side was fine. Driver side was very faulty. 2 of the studs were steipled out of the holes and 1 was held in by rubber cement. Took a lot of modification to install. Poor quality

Super cheap and they don’t fit at all. Such a joke. Please avoid buying these. There are no brake light either so know one will know if you are braking. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Nice lights, look great. The fit is not the best, both lights are wired for the drivers side, need to slice one wire on the passenger side to get full function

For starters They don't fit the greatest and for some reason passenger side plug is wired same as driver therefor no passenger reverse light. And the brake lights are on the same circuit as the taillights so when taillights are on there is no difference when pressing the brakes. Not worth the price for how low quality they actually are, wouldn't recommend buying, but they do look pretty decent when installed
