Charcoal Companion Smoke in a Cup Set, Hickory, Mesquite, Apple CC9397

Love it. Adds that flavor of a 'real steak on the grill'. Little snack-pack sized aluminum cups that you put on/under your grill. They heat up and let go with the smoke- put the cover on your grill and presto. Pricey. Bought because the mother and father-in-law were coming over for anniversary dinner- steaks and shish kabobs were preplanned. This added the definitive touch. My wife and in-laws just loved it. I only caught a small note of the smoke in my steak's taste. However, it did raise my game a notch. Have used with beef, pork, vegetables. My favorite is the hickory. Each cup is basically a one-shot deal. No messy clean-up. Used on a 4 burner propane grill. Transaction was fast (prime), shipping ok, arrived ok. If you don't normally do the whole 'smoked' thing and have all the fancy equipment for your grill, this is a definite must try if you have that special occasion where you (grill master) need to knock it out-of-the-park. Would definitely recommend to a friend but not a relative (since now my steaks and burgers are now agreed by all to 'just taste better'... :>)

I usually have a big bag of mesquite wood chips that I have to soak and wrap in aluminum foil. Such a pain! This product does exactly what it says it does. It's quick, easy and produces mouthwatering favor. I used it for steak once and a few days later, I put some fish on the grill, forgetting the old chip cup was still there. It still made enough smoke for the fish! I really like these!

Ordered as a gift. Person receiving it was delighted, having heard about these but never tried them before.

All you have to do is throw one in the gas grill and the taste of the meat is sooo good! All flavors are great! Easy too!

This would probably do better on a smaller grill. For my set up, it didn't fit under the grate correctly and ended up on its side

for the price its just so small and doesn't really affect flavor.. kind of a gimmick.

We've been using these all summer on our gas grill. The apple and mesquite are our favorites and work best on pork chops and ham steaks. Very satisfied.

I found these at an outlet mall specialty store. They were marked down to $1.49 each. They're great, but I wouldn't pay any more than that.These should be available in two sizes. The current size, and another half as big.This would let you tailor the smoking process and prevent waste.I have a gas grill and as the instructions state- it did take about 5 minutes for the smoke to get rolling. Yes, they'll smoke for 30-40 minutes, but I like my pork chops edible.I used the mesquite for the chops and am saving the hickory for a rack of baby back baby back baby back riiiiiiiibs.GET IN ME BELLY!

Good for cold smoking cheese and such but doesn't work long and is rather pricey for what you get. I wouldn't buy again.
