A Sunday in Ville-d'Avray

Melancholy without being depressing
A beautifully written novel about two sisters who meet for an afternoon in the suburbs of Paris. I enjoyed how the tone is melancholy without being depressing. It's peppered with just the right amount of dreariness.

I couldn't stop reading all weekend
I love the way this is written and the story itself is both unique and yet relatable in certain ways. I wish I could find more of her books in English.

Lovely novella, wonderfully written
Perfectly written with lovely descriptive prose that transports you to other times and places while reminding you, or perhaps just a glimmer or a memory, of your own past, or present. Just beautifully written, but sad it was so short - a day read. If only more of her works were translated to English. Well worth the read!
