Worth the money
Update May 27, 2020So I order this for the price point and reading the good reviews. Every year I get a new fillet knife. Becuase the ones I have been buying are all p.o.s.So I figure I got nothing to loose for this price, $20. I fish alot and I'm always fillet 5 to 40 fish. A each time I go fishing which is 3 to 5 times a week.Well this knife is amazing and does a great job. Better then what I could expect for the price. It's worth the buy.ProsSuper sharp out of the boxDoesnt rust like cheap knivesHas a sturdy bladeIs cheap for the qualityConsDoesnt come with a sheath (I know it's a kitchen knife. But I do a lot of catch and cooks. So it would be awesome to get a sheath or have a option to buy one.It does get dull fast, so make sure you get a good knife sharpener.Other that it's amazing and worth the money. If this review helped you, please let me know by hitting the helpful button. Thank you.

Blade flexes well for cutting perfect fillets.
I read all the reviews saying what a great knife and I have to agree. This is the 7 inch fillet knife and it works as well as knifes costing much more. This was money well spent. I also got the narrow knife thinking this might not be flexible enough. Both knifes are flexable and will cut right along the backbone for Trout and Koakanee. Both are great purchases. Either will serve you very well.

great value
An excellent choice for students, chefs and pro kitchens and home cooks.Mercer products are well made, comfortable over long hours of use (ergonomic). Their entire line, whether the MX3, the Rennaisance, Genesis or Millenia line are terrific values for the dollar. I've used various models from each of the lines and think they are well placed in terms of quality for the price point. I own almost the entire line of Genesis products, but purchaced this 7 inch flexible fillet from the Millenia line to add to my "traveling set" of knives because the alloy used in this model and it's tempering make it a touch more flexible than the genesis model. Even though I generally prefer a bolster on most of my knives, I prefer that a fillet knife like this one have no bolster. As an experiment, I used this knife head to head with one of my high end Japanese blades for filleting fish. It held it's own admirably. While the expensive knife was no doubt "better" (handmade with single bevel out of carbon steel) It's less likely to get "misplaced" (stolen), and if it is "misplaced", it isn't as expensive to replace. It's also incredibly easier to care for. The Japanese knife had to be very, very carefully dried and stored. the Milenia fillet knife was just "wash and go".Highly recommended.

Great knife
The first 2 or 3 times I used it it was very sharp and cut really well. Maybe I expected it to cut just like it did from day 1 without having to sharpen it. Overall, I would highly recommend this product!

Mercer Milennia Black Handle 7" fillet knife
The Mercer Milennia fillet knife works very well for slicing and cutting meats, chicken and fish. The blade is a little wider than I'm used to for filleting fish but is sharp and is comfortable to use.

Not impressed
For the price I expected more. This knife is no better than anything I can buy in a store much cheaper. Convenience is very individual, and for a different hand it may be easier to hold, so I don't judge this. But it got dull very fast, and to sharpen it was rather difficult. I rarely use it.

Great knife
I fish a LOT. Needed a new knife and ordered this one. Was thicker blade than I expected, but after getting used to it, better and more versatile than what I'd used before. Great from everything from crappie to big pike. Had it a few months and it has held its edge very, very well. No need to sharpen yet. Very good buy.
